Fantastic visual entertainment
This is a colourful spectacle, full of movement and music, which I reckon even very young children would enjoy, but youngsters of all ages would find something to engage them, and for adults, it's an insight into traditions and legends of The Day of the Dead, going all the way back to the Mayans, I believe. The action moves very quickly but you can still see the attention to detail in the animation. It is a story within a story, as a group of wayward children are taken to a museum which at first they're not at all keen to visit, but the messages they hear from the Book of Life get through to them, as they can't help but become involved with the characters. Imagine lots of kids wanting to watch it over and over - might do same!

An Unexpected Gem - Exceptional
We were flicking through Amazon Prime movies on our smart TV, looking through movies to watch as a family, and came across this one and my daughter chose it even though none of us had heard of it before. It took a little while to get used to the character animation and to figure out the story but it soon fell into place and the characters came to life.It is a wonderful movie - full of vibrant colours - super characters - centred around a Mexican folk tale with some modern songs intertwined.Watch in HD / Blue Ray to get the most out of the amazing colours and then sit back and enjoy one of the best animated, family, movies released in a long time.

Colourful fun
we loved this film and it has been watched many times. The colours explode on the screen as anything day of the dead should. It has a great story line for both young and old making it an enjoyable family watch. The tunes are pleasant it also has the required amount of humour suspense and tears with a wonderful ending. It gives a small insight into Mexican culture and has become my daughters firm favourite go to on a rainy day. Well worth the watch

I really like this film
I really like this film, watched it with the kids 2 nights ago and usually while watching a kids movie I kinda switch off half way through. The Book of Life is a little different to the norm, the story is good and the bright and colourful artwork kept me engaged. Plenty of laugh out loud moments and great characters . Although we watched it in 2D I will be definitely watching it in 3D very soon.. When the film had finished it didn't feel like it had been on for long..probably as the pace of the movie was fast moving..great movie for all ages.

The Book of Life = Spectacular
Amazing film, I found it on sky movies and at first felt it might be cheesy but I ended up loving it so... much that I just had to buy it! the songs are great and very addictive and the film has a great storyline and just everything about it is cute, good old fashioned romance and definitely recommend to those who love animated, romance or Disney style films!!!!
