The Complete Gujarati Cookbook

I've only made a few recipes from this book so far, but I love it. We are fortunate to live in an area where Gujarati ingredients are easy to find, and this book has made us more adventurous, especially with some of the less familiar vegetables. So far, each recipe has worked well, and has produced a well-balanced dish. There are also links to the Tarla Dalal website, where there are videos of some of the recipes.The layout of the book is old-fashioned, with illustrations confined to a few pages, but that doesn't detract from the quality of the recipes. Also, there's no introduction to Gujarati cuisine, nor an explanation of ingredients and cooking styles. Try the Prashad book of Indian Vegetarian Cooking for a more beautifully produced and discursive book.But if you want a collection of good, sound Gujarati recipes, from home-style cooking to dishes fit for a feast, Tarla Dalal fits the bill.

I purchased this book and it just arrived so I am yet to cook anything from it.Firstly, the book is small (just a little bigger than a5). It is not a big book at all and number of pages are small. The paper is not glossed (except for the picture pages) so be careful using near actual food, its normal printer paper.The price is expensive but I think I know why and it's not mentioned in the description: The book is an import from India. My copy at least was printed in Mumbai and imported, it even is priced in INR (325 exactly). Also, the recipes are directly copied from the main website (tarladalal.com) and even the descriptive text is the same.

Very nice book! Bought it for my sister, she just loves it! Wish I had ordered one for myself too, but postage to Ireland makes it expensive😒😩

No i would not recommend this cook book to anyoneThe paper was crap, no coloured pictures of the different typesof food,DON'T KNOW WHY THIS BOOK WAS PUBLISHED IN THE FIRST PLACE...!!!
