Q: Hi fix?i purchased 2 80l bins, one perfect, the other won’t open. less than one month old with duracells. cleaned it, reset it. still not opening.

Try new fresh battery’s. And power it on the back button. If the does not open try manually opening it and closing a few times. If that fails, the sensor is probably damaged. My one after a years use sometimes fails to open so manually forcing it to open and close makes it work. Battery lasts usually about 7-9 months, ours is a very busy household opening and closing approximately 20-30 times a day. Hope this works. Also check the battery connections inside for rust if so scrape it off with a flat screw driver. To avoid condensation from refuse entering the battery chamber, put some tape around the battery compartment after installing.

Q: Can I use is without batteries?

I would say no because the lid is small to pull up . Batteries last a long time and its a great.

Hi, I think u need to reset it following your instructions hand book. My own advice just make sure the batteries are ok , take them out and put in again. Anyway I don't use batteries my bin working with a mobile charger, just I took the head of charging port off and cut to make the + & _ wire separate and connected to place _ &+ in battery place . Its works with electric power now. Good luck. Any questions welcome

If the battery system is switched off or not working for some reason then the lid can be opened manually by simply lifting it. Hope this helps.
