Exposed Shower Fixing Bracket Plate Thermostatic Mixer Bar Valve Wall Kit Metal

Bought a new shower mixer of the bar type, to replace my old concentric type. The same 150mm pipe centres, but because of the large holes around where the pipes came through the wall, this backplate was a good solution for me, to just about cover those holes, and also the screw holes where the old shower fixed to the wall.Previous reviews show the design varies somewhat, but I got just what I wanted: 40mm high, three screw holes to fix to the wall (not two), and a nice shiny chrome finish (which I hope will last).The screws supplied weren't particularly nice (and also had a flat head, whereas the holes in the plate are chamfered?) so I used some chrome head screws which I already had luckily.And in my case, to prevent having any thread showing beyond where the chrome locknuts of the shower screwed on, I popped down my local plumber's merchants to get a couple of 5mm spacer nuts and fitted on the back surface.

Great bit of kit for a mixer shower, makes securing to the wall a walk in the park and make for easy replacement of the mixer when the time comes

Unless you're building the bathroom from scratch then this item should be avoided. There is no way of installing the shower valve using this kit unless you have access to the back of the shower, and if you had such access you wouldn't need the kit in the first place.

It was not what the picture showed re the fixings, need to go back

Be aware the shower connection is solid,the product photo shows a recess.My shower mixer union would not fit this.Had to adapt(shame)otherwise it's a reasonable plate.

Bought this for a bathroom I was fitting to make fitting the shower easier, high quality stainless steel, made the job a lot easier and when the time comes to replace the shower just unscrew the shower jobs a good one
