Very interesting book
This is a very intriguing concept about everyone receiving a string to show the length of their life. Then the debate follows of whether to look at it or not, and the difficulty in some couple where there’s a difference of opinion. Plus different governments around the world take different views and the whole discussion of discrimination arises. There is also exploration of what we do with our lives and what constitutes a good life. Really thought provoking book. I loved it.

Well written, enjoyable and reflective.
The Measure by Nikki Erlick“It is not the length of life. But the depth of life’ ‘You don’t need a long lifetime to make an impact on this world. You just need the will to do so.”Enjoyable yet thought provoking.Would you believe me if I told you that a book about death was enjoyable? Well this book is not depressing at all, it is a call to live life to the fullest. One morning, every adult over 22 across the world wakes up to a box containing a string that shows the length of time they have to live.We follow eight characters to see what they decide to do with this information.Well written, enjoyable and reflective.

Promises what it can’t deliver
couldn’t get beyond page 70. Really flat an empty. The idea is attractive but the narrative, if I can call it so, is fragmented, too lose and too empty. Reads like like a series of vignettes that don’t add up. Characters and interactions are far from convincing.

Great conversation starter!
I bought this book to read for my book club. We often spend just a couple minutes talking about the book, and then we move on to wine and snacks. This book, however, gave us lots to talk about and kept the conversation going for hours.
