I have a fiberglass ground sheet that I use when camping (for under my stove to keep sparks from accidentally setting leaves or grass on fire). It has worked well and seems no worse for wear despite many trips and uses. When I saw these larger blankets I realized that they should work just as well for an emergency at home. I hope I never have to put these to the test, but they are large enough to wrap around a person (in case their clothes catch fire or I have to run through a fire to access an exit), so they are more than big enough to toss over a pan on the stove if the need arose. While I'm not sure what I'll do with the gloves that came in the package, having the stick-on hooks are handy; these blankets can be hung in a conspicuous location (like inside a kitchen cupboard or in a pantry) and then pulling down on the black strings pulls the blanket from the pouch so it's ready to go. These don't replace smoke alarms or a fire extinguisher, but they're another tool to provide some aid during a fire.

These are a great option to have in the home. Who doesn’t want added fire protection? I’m keeping one upstairs and one downstairs. They are heavy duty and nice thick material, but packed neatly in the bags, so they aren’t inconvenient to store. Personally, if there was a fire, (as I’ve never used a fire extinguisher) I’d rather throw a blanket on it than figure out how to work an extinguisher and have to deal with the clean up afterwards. This is also a great option for people with arthritis or elderly who might not be able to lift a heavy fire extinguisher.

I bought 2 Fire Blanket's. Love compact size I keep one in my bedroom and one in my living room. I have a open kitchen that opens to my living room. Feel better prepared for the what if a fire happend in my home.

I couldn’t believe it!Maybe it was a coincidence, but today we received the Emergency Fire Suppression Blanket. And guess what happened!!!My daughter was frying eggs and suddenly she started shouting that there was a fire.She spilt the oil on the stove and caught fire, she panicked and started shouting.I ran to see what it was, and when I saw I thought of the blanket right since we just received the product.I just threw it on the stove, the fire went out, the alarm didn't activate, my daughter got a little scared, but everything ended happily.I recommend this product to everyone.
