Too early for a full review, but so far it’s been a great help. I was able to troubleshoot a fuel injection and compression issue with my 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel. The Launch was easy to set-up and register. I haven’t used tech support yet, so I can’t give feedback in that area. Fast shipping, good value!Update: 1/3/2020Well, I had a problem with the unit after using the system for several days. I was getting an error “gboard keeps stopping”. This was popping up every few seconds, the unit still worked, but very annoying. So, I read the manual and came to the conclusion that I needed to do a factory reset. I couldn’t back up my data because my keyboard wasn’t available. I reset the tablet and the keyboard came up, but the V 431 Pro Software was gone. I searched the Launch website and couldn’t get to the software to download. I sent Tech Support a trouble ticket and waited...crickets. I then contacted the seller...within 12 hours they sent a link to the software. I loaded the software and everything worked as advertised. I also had a question about this system being a 431 and not a 431Pro. The seller sent me a chart showing the differences between the two models. I’m satisfied with the response. UCar Technology is standing behind their product and has outstanding customer support. BTW...I used the scan tool to program a key for a 2013 Ford F-150, worked with no issues.

The Launch X431V provides dealer level diagnostics at an affordable price. Extensive data stream information, fault code information with internet links for diagnosis, actuator testing, and special functions like throttle learn, injector coding, and maintenance light resets provide technicians with more diagnostic data than other scan tools costing much more! In addition to engine controls, Anti-lock brake, Air bag, climate control, cruise control, instrument panel, immobilizer, TPMS, etc. systems can be accessed and diagnosed with fault codes, data stream, actuator tests, and more. Be sure to boot up the tool, register, and download all the diagnostic data, then the available diagnostics for vehicles can be perused from the DEMO page. Very broad coverage for basically every vehicle in the world from 1996 up to present day. Don't see something you need? Then be sure to do the updates, as new information is being added on a regular basis. Also, you are encouraged to file reports on vehicles that don't have a particular module or test available. Yes, there are diagnostics in the system for 2018 vehicles, but many times this information is not immediately available to the aftermarket, so sometimes vehicles, especially newer vehicles, have limited diagnostics. However, the majority of cars I have tested so far are very well covered. The only thing that this scanner IS NOT equipped to do is J2534 flash-thru reprogramming; and I'm not interested in getting in to that part of diagnostics and repair. So, I consider this scanner to be the BEST VALUE available for diagnostic capability on a very broad range of vehicles. Shipping was prompt and on time, the item was new in box and well packaged, I was able to charge up and boot up the tool easily, and customer service is excellent! If all you need is a bigger screen, then spend $400 more for the V+ PRO. Otherwise, the X431V is the same tool and does the same thing.Addendum, 08/20:I have now used the Launch for approximately 1 1/2 years. The tool has delivered exceptional diagnostics, considering the broad scope of vehicles I tend to work on. My main reason for this update however is to impress upon purchasers/users of this device the outstanding customer service and support.Approximately three weeks ago I could not login in to my account to do a software update. My password was not accepted. This was due NOT to a problem with Launch, but a technical issue with my internet service and wifi.I contacted cnlaunch about my problem. Someone named Monica helped me with my problem. Keep in mind, it had nothing to do with the Launch product, but Monica went far above and beyond anything I would have expected to get my scan tool back up and running. This included getting my username and password reset AND providing me with a link to download the latest app for Launch X431V, which now includes more diagnostic functions than ever. Monica also checked back to be sure that my scanner was indeed working!Keep in mind that when contacting cnlaunch.com for technical support that there is about a 12 hour lag time-- if you send a message during business hours here in the US, they are on the other side of the world so it will be about twelve hours later that you will receive a reply.I would encourage you to take advantage of Launch technical support if you have issues or questions with the product before giving up and returning the scanner. I am an old, retired mechanic who still does some diagnostic consulting and I have been using scan tools since they were introduced back in the 1980s. I still think that, for the money, the Launch system is the best buy. Are there better scan tools? Yes, but they cost thousands of dollars and are dealer level tools. If you need that kind of system, then you're probably attempting to do dealer level service. Good Luck. If the Launch won't diagnose it, then I'm better off not getting involved anyway. I'm too old for a big ego in the auto repair world of the 21st century!PS: I get a good many questions on amazon concerning specific functions of the Launch X431V. Let me say this; if I have personal experience with something, I'll tell you. However, some questions concerning certain specifics (i.e. key programming, resets, etc) I cannot know until it is connected to that particular car and that function is attempted. Usually, the newer the vehicle the more comprehensive the coverage. Launch encourages users to file a report (through the scanner) concerning issues with specific vehicles. The more feedback they receive, the better the tool becomes. This will benefit all users of Launch products.

I’m a home mechanic and have wanted a bidirectional scan tool for years. I contemplated a used Snapon Solus, but realized the software updates would probably exceed the price of this new unit. I must say this scanner is well built, and higher quality than I expected. I have used it on about 12 different cars so far, from almost new, all the way back to a 1998 4Runner and a 1998 ZR2 S-10. It has worked flawlessly. Recently, I was trouble shooting the air leveling suspension on my 2008 Infiniti QX56. This tool allowed me to perform the exact tests that are called for in the Factory Service Manual. The tests even had the EXACT SAME NAMES so it was easy to run my suspension through the tests. Turning on the compressor, purging the system, challenging the truck to a “level” condition. I would have never accomplished this without a bidirectional scan tool. I am very pleased with the tool, and only wish it came with a small case to protect it while transporting. You see, the big “suit case” it comes with is none too handy to carry around. I ended up purchase zippered sleeve on Amazon. It works great. I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a more complete diagnostic experience.

I had this tool for few years, Work great. Recently keep ask me for software update. Few weeks ago, it just stop working and nothing wrong with tablet, it is software. I call customer service and found out this is overseas version . I emailed them several times. No reply. Now , I have to order xtool which the customer service is in California. The launch device will remind me stay away from this name brand.
