This product is as described and it works!
My Doberman hates having his nails clipped with both a manual and an electric trimmer. This scratchpad is a great alternative and it really works to get his nails filed down. His nails were in desperate need of a trim after I fell behind on trimming for a few week. However, after 1 scratch session, they were already in better shape.I purchased the PallyPad 1, but should have bought the 2nd version as it's nice to have options on orientation. The adhesive grips on the bottom work to keep the product stable on my wood floors. All-in-all works great! It does come with 1 refill of the sandpaper (I wish it came with more!).

This has worked well for my dog!
My dog is terrified of having her nails trimmed and this has been a great solution! Not only does it file down her nails, it also gives her some mental stimulation because she has to figure out how to get the box open. My only qualm is that it does slide around some on the carpet, but she enjoys chasing it around. For context: My dog is a 100+ lb Boerboel Mastiff, this size worked for her!

Easy to use
Have you ever witnessed a min pin getting his nails trimmed? Oh, the drama! And Harvey is more skittish than any of our other min pins ever were, with the added feature of screaming. Ugh! We had tried so many things unsuccessfully. When I saw a short video of someone using a scratch board, I had hope: Harvey is a digging professional!I was happy to find the PallyPad. The version I got, with the stand, is such a simple design, and well made. Training Harv was a simple venture. We put a few tiny kibbles in, showed them to him, closed the door, told him, "Use your toes," and waited. He sniffed and explored front, back, all around the PallyPad. We, then physically picked up his paw, said, "Use your toes," and made a hand-over-paw light scratch motion on the sandpaper, said, "Good boy!" and slid open the door so he could get a piece of kibble. We repeated the entire sequence, and on the second repeat, he touched the pad under his own power, received effusive praise and a slid-open door to get his kibble. Within 5 minutes, he was independently scratching and receiving his reward. We did it a few times and put it away. The next day, we went a little longer, and we required a more robust scratch. The next time, we required both feet and several scratches. In the few short days we have been using the PallyPad, the sandpaper is beginning to wear in Harv's preferred area of scratching. This came with a replacement sheet (cut to accommodate the sliding door). When that one wears out, it will be a simple matter to replace it with sandpaper from the hardware store. The PallyPad is such a good idea. Harv's two middle toenails are lovely and short. The surrounding toenails are still longer than I'd like, but I see no way to remedy it, as they end at the same point as the two middle nails... he'd have to angle his paw and scratch in a somewhat sideways manner to file them down further. Can't see that happening. And his back toes? I have no idea. For now, they're long, but this product makes no claim to address back toes, so I of course I won't deduct stars for that.

It’s okay
The media could not be loaded. My biggest complaint is it doesn’t stay in place and isn’t very sturdy, even with the rubber pieces it comes with on the bottom. I tried both the carpet and the tile and it just slides around. The compartment that holds the treats could be a little larger too, to fit some bigger treats that my dog really loves. The picture of the bone in there is deceiving, the space is not that big. I’ll need to find a solution to keep it in place, otherwise I have to hold it down. Only other downfall is I have a lazy bulldog who gets bored easily and is already giving up on it. That’s a breed problem though and not a product problem

Great Customer Service
This is a nice board. The company sent an email with instructions and information which rarely happens with things bought on amazon .I adopted an anxious, senior dog that won’t tolerate nail trims and my vet suggested a scratch board. We’re still learning. She will scratch it one or two times per foot and gets anxious if so tried to coax more. I think she’ll get the idea over time.

Here's everything you need to know about this product
The GoodSo the amazing thing about this product is that it actually works. It only took my dog (GSD) about 20 minutes to figure out how to use it, and it's really helping his nails. This is a lifesaver for us, because he's very opposed to having his nails trimmed, and it's they can't manage it even at the vet's unless he's sedated. The badThe sandpaper that they use is of a very low quality. It started peeling off almost immediately. It's also not waterproof, so the first time your dog licks the paper (which I guarantee will happen) it's going to come off like wet paper. This started happening within 10 minutes of use.I don't understand why the manufacturer couldn't spend another $0.50 to use waterproof sandpaper of a higher grade. However, rather than returning the product, I ordered 100 grit waterproof sandpaper on Amazon, and am going to glue it on using Elmer's Wood Glue (which is non-toxic).If I had to buy it again, I'd probably try to find another manufacturer with a higher-quality product.

Perfect for my high anxiety dog
The Pally Pad is a lifesaver for us! In the past, we had to make veterinarian visits and get our dog sedated just to have his nails trimmed. He is so fearful of the clippers and the rotary tool. As soon as he saw the Pally Pad and smelled his favorite treats hidden inside, he was hooked. No training necessary! He immediately started scratching his nails on the surface. I was hesitant at first because I thought he might grind down his pads, but he just uses his nails. This is perfect!

A Stress-Free Nail Care Solution
The Scratch Square for Dogs has been a game-changer for our nail-averse chihuahua mix. Tired of the struggle with traditional clippers and traumatizing pet store visits, we gave this a try. While it takes a few sessions for gradual filing, it's a stress-free alternative that our pup adapted to quickly. Not as quick as a clipper, but perfect for a dog who despises nail trims. A worthwhile investment for a calm and cooperative nail care experience!

I could never get my dog to cut his nails before this
Clever gadget that helps my dog to file his nails on his own. I had so much trouble in the past getting his nails trimmed, but this gadget makes it easier for my dog to do it on his own.

Great product!
My dog has a phobia being touched on his front paws. He picked how to use the scratch board super quick. He is very food motivated and it was simple to use. I can now keep his front nails short. Thanks!

Too easy to open
I had high hopes for this product but my dog can slide the lid with just his nose which doesn’t make it challenging enough. Disappointing cause it’s a great concept but unfortunately didn’t work for us.
