The Tide: Dead Ashore: Volume 6 Paperback – 14 Dec. 2017

I've read all the other books in The Tide series, and it just keeps getting better and better. I'm not a huge fan of the Zombie apocalypse genre, generally because I get annoyed by how utterly useless the protagonists are. They end up dropping like flies, or getting stuck in silly places doing silly things.None of that here. The professional team, under the command of Dominic Holland set out to find out more about the Oni agent, and end up finding out a lot more than they bargained for. Set upon from all sides, distrusted by everyone and all alone in the hostile sea, they can neither set sail for home, nor effectively take the battle to the enemy because they're low on supplies, ammo, and firepower, while also not really knowing where to strike.The Tide story arc feels like it's definitely starting to bend around. Dom and the team are getting closer to the truth, and they're starting to work their way up the food chain in the evil group that plotted the apocalypse. As they get closer, the only question remains: Will they get there in time to save the human race?

If I could give this series 10 stars, I would! Very well written by someone who obviously knows his stuff - I don't try tho understand it, just enjoy it lol!! Book 6 is as gripping as book1 and I will DEFINITELY be getting the next one!!

I have to admit that I wasn't sure about this series, not the usual type of books I read. But having now just finished the sixth book, I am so looking forward to buying the seventh.The storyline and characters are well written, with enough variation to keep me hooked. Well worth giving this series a read.Well done Anthony, I love it.

Another 5 star rating for book 6 in the tide series, yet again I'm hooked.Really enjoying the character development and always eager to find out more about the hunters and there ongoing saga!

The series of events and occurrences that make me feel like I am there with them. I have been waiting for the next of the best books I have read and enjoyed in years as they ebb and flow in battle or emotions is a pleasure to read and allow my mind to build the pictures of the events occurring on the page

The edge of your seat excitement and ongoing fear for the characters lives, means I had to put down the book sometimes to take a breather !

Great read

I loved it and couldn't put it down! The Hunters are facing even more menacing threats - both Skulls and human!Once again, the Hunters face practically nonstop action, adventure, and intrigue. This time we are taken to Morocco where they are facing a new threat even scarier than the goliaths, titans, and droolers combined! We learn more about who is behind the new infections... and we learn more about the fight to stop the spread.The characters continue to evolve and mature as they do their best to stop the spread of the insidious infection. Dom continues the fight with his team; Lauren continues her fight to put an end to the infection and perhaps even reverse the horrible effects. Maggie still continues to try and protect her humans from danger - even if it means harm to herself! And... even in this terrible post-apocalyptic world, we see hope in a budding romance! Great characters finding they are tougher than they had ever imagined in the face of danger makes you want to cheer them on!The author does explain the science involved but in a way that we can follow. We have to have a little understanding in order to have us scared to death! His descriptions are so vivid that you can see these monsters in your mind!I love this series as it's approach is different... and it seems the book ends way too fast! Your heart is thumping from the adrenaline rush... and ah! We are biting our nails until the next installment! Each book gets better and better! :) Read this book!!! Read the series!!!

Another super great book in this series where someone has made an agent that turns people into "Skulls", but can it get any worse? Yes it can as they can also turn them into "Titans & Goliaths. This wound be bad enough, but the "Hunters" are on their way to Tangiers, trying to find out what is going on in that country also if possible, what happened to a Team of Navy Seals that have disappeared. Just when the Hunters can't believe they've seen it all, they find something that shocks them to their core. Anthony Melchiorri has done another amazing job with this series but adding what I believe is the best book of the series yet. Besides book #1 bringing this all into play, this one hands down is my favorite. If I Could give this more than the 5 star rating, I definitely would. Thank you Anthony J Melchiorri, bring on Book #7.

Reader's note: This is book six in a series. Each book builds on the previous one so I highly recommend, if you haven't already done so, reading them in order. However, if you haven't read the series and you are sensitive to violence as well as adult language and situations then perhaps this is not the series or book for you.Despite still recovering from their last brutal battle, Dom and the Hunters are still looking for information to defend against those who want to destroy humanity. They still have an issue with some military members who would like nothing more than take them down.I really enjoyed this book, even though there were some plot twists and turns that made me cringe. Those were because I've become so invested in the characters and what happens to them.

Another gripping page turner from Mr. Melchiorri. I am totally hooked on this series. The writing has made me hearken back to the old Hardy Boys series of books I read back when I was very young. In those books each chapter ended in a cliffhanging climax that thoroughly compelled the reader to turn the page and continue. Melchiorri uses a similar method in this series and actually even steps up the page turning enthusiasm by having the characters splitting up to accomplish multiple tasks and then having each of the character's stories end in cliffhanging climaxes...often several in one chapter. I find myself churning through this series of books with such enthusiasm that I have completed the first six books in the series in 22 days and will begin the seventh book at the conclusion of this writing. Well done, Anthony Melchiorri...I am a huge fan and am recommending your books to everyone I know.

Again, Wow! Anthony has done it again. Just when I thought he’d run out of plot, Anthony found a new twist. Hybrids! I had a feeling that was what Matsumoto was looking for in the beginning, the Ultimate Soldier, not really a Hybrid, it works out very well for the storyline. We already saw the Giants and Titans with nominal control (maybe) over the skulls but this just adds to the excitement of the story. How can the Hunters stop all 40 locations from gaining control over the Skulls and destroying what’s left of mankind? I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Sometimes, I get really into a book and I get kind of bummed out when it ends. This is definitely one of those times. I got so into the story that I didn't realize I was almost at the end. Really good books sometimes just feel like they shouldn't end.Tide 6 picks up where 5 lets off. The Hunters are still trying to stop madness from overtaking the entire world and suffering various setbacks in the chaos around then. Things go even more crazy with the realization that there are scarier things out there than anybody realized before. Hold on tight and keep your wits about you. It gets crazier all the time. Liking forward to book 7!

How close to the source of evil can the hunters get before they are overwhelmed by the enemy ? How many more of the hunters will be killed before Dom is not able to continue ? How many different types of skills will be discovered that they have yet to fight ? The Oni agent seems to be able to change faster than the hunters can find ways to kill them. However, as long as Dom has willing scientifically trained helpers and the help of courageous forces; he will be able to find a way to win.

HOLY CRAZY TOWN!! This book is nonstop action from first page to last page. We are involved with so many fronts that information is moving fast and furious as well. Just when we think we're gonna catch the bad guys and solve the skull issue things get turned around on whatever is smaller than a dime. My favorite is the introduction of new potential allies/enemies you will enjoy this book as much as the first book. In the words of the late great gonzo author, Hunter S Thompson, You buys the ticket, you rides the ride.

The ever more twisted tale of the Hunters continues, and gets muddier and bloodier as it goes. The story is actually still very good, although it does seem like events are actively working against them. I do not have much knowledge about diseases, but this one is nasty ib how it is transmitted and how it mutates, nevermind what it does to the host. Still a very enjoyable read that I would suggest to any fan of the genre.

I recently found out that books 6 and 7 were available. Re-read books 1 - 5 to become familiar again with the plot and characters as I read them a few years ago. If you enjoy post apocalyptic stories, this is one of the best. Great character development. Good story, just when you think things cannot get any worse, they do.

As good as this series is, the first 4 books still had the best of the best. Yes, the author is giving more info and more problems or skulls but this book isn't as good as the others. But, as part of the series the characters are good and the story is regular.

Book 6 had errors throughout and was a fun read. The characters and plot have developed well. Each time the characters go into a mission, there's always someone or something that changes how the problem will be solved and keeps me interested in how they will get out of a bad situation. I look forward to the last book.
