Classic and Sports Car Magazine A-Z of Cars of the 1970s

Having grown up during the 70s and 80s, I can well remember quite a few of the cars featured in this publication being a common sight on UK roads and parked in back streets at the time too. VW Beetle. Capri. Mk1 Escort. Renault 12 (when did you last see one of those?) Hillman Avenger etc--. According to my memories, were all over the place back In the day, thou seldom, if hardly ever seen nowadays.This book is full of useful facts and figures. May only feature a small b n w pic of all of the models listed in it, and no colour ones, regrettably, but you get the production figures (if available), plus engine size; body types; # of cylinders; years built etc--.Although the book on sale here is a 2010 reprint, the publishers haven't bothered to update facts such as when a model ceased being in production. As this book was first compiled back in 1990, it mentions cars such as the Daimler Double Six as being "still in production" (it aint now!)The 1970s was a time of great change in our motor industry. Who would have thought at the start of the decade that old stalwarts like Wolseley and Hillman would disappear, and that foreign imports would top a million by 1979.

Excellent condition, very well packed, keen price and fast serves..couldn't ask for more.

For some time I have owned the previous two publications and was delighted to find the 1970's and 1980's versions (1930's and 1945 - 1970) and have bought them both to make up the set. Good photos (in Black and white as previous) with lots of useful information. Occasionally one would like to have a little more info but you cannot have everything. The cars are not as interesting as earlier ones, so not so much nostalgia!

Am pleased to have just received this from Amazon, and glad it has been re-printed.It is a comprehensive review of all the cars on sale in the 1970's with pictures and a little detail and comments on each. It obviously covers a lot of cars.Please be aware that this is a re-print of a book of that was originally published many years ago, (I remember borrowing it from a library in about 1994) so that there are some oddities, like the comment that the Skoda Estelle is still in production!

Another great book featuring cars you could still work on yourself. Arrived on time, well packed and at a reasonable price. I am very pleased and would use this seller again.

This brilliant book has every single car from the 1970s in it I think. It's 183 thick quality pages has 4 different cars on every page and their descriptions is well detailed. Excellent book but just a shame it's all in black and white.

General informative, doe not go into details, but gives an overview of the time and cars of this period. I do recommend it for a quick and general information.

Like the others in the series, this seems a pretty comprehensive review of all the cars of the era. I can't see any omissions. There is a little detail on each car too.
