Serious spikes!!
Assume they'll work well since they are well constructed - and certainly won't break like so many flimsy plastic bird detergent spikes do! Make sure you don't put them in a location someone may grab onto!! We put on the top of a trellis - and wonder if we should add a "danger" sticker or a warning sign!

Helped solve a woodpecker problem
I suddenly started hearing tapping sounds in my house. When I went outside to see what was up, I saw a downy woodpecker pecking at the fascia under the roof line. I scared it away, but it kept coming back to the same spot. No idea why.The wood is a dark brown, which is how I decided on these spikes. I used Scotch heavy duty double sided take to attach them. I used a hair drier to warm the adhesive up a little in hopes of making it adhere better. After repeated visits and pecking, the woodpecker stopped pecking at the house. Yeah!! The spikes have weathered the winter and are still up there. They are barely visible on the brown wood, and unless I actively look for them, even I don't notice them.I suppose these would also be effective on fences or walls to prevent squirrels, birds, or other small animals from becoming a nuisance. They might make some very interesting, wicked ice spikes too if filled with water and put in the freezer. But I've yet to give that a try.

Not a racoon deterrent
This can be affective for a dog or cat but definitely not raccoons. I read the mixed reviews but still tried it. I watched raccoons walk on these. Not effective. But could be a deterrent for potential burglars because they are sturdy and could hurt someone trying to jump your wall.

Birds are building nests on these "spikes" ....
We didn't want to buy the ugly conventional metal spikes and wanted something that would camouflage a little better with our wood porch. While these brown plastic spikes may be easier on the eyes, they have zero effectiveness in what they are designed to do.I was optimistic that this item would work for us, but unfortunately it has not hindered birds from building nests all over our backyard, at all. I had to uninstall these and throw them in my trash. Once I replaced with the conventional longer metal spikes, the birds are finally staying away.Nothing more than just cheap, overpriced plastic. I can't recommend this item.

Bye Bye Birdie !
Everyone loves nature, but not when it becomes a nuisance. We had birds perching on our porch lantern each night, leaving their mess along the length of the lantern and staining my front door mat. I bought some indoor/outdoor two-sided tape and put these on my lantern. NO MORE MESS ! It's been 4 days now and not a spot of poop to be found. This is effortless...the strips can be cut to a custom length, if needed, to fit your application. More effective than sprays, scents or fake predators. An effective product.

Didn't keep pesky robin away
Product is designed well to keep birds away; however, a robin wanting to nest in an outdoor fan was determined. She just built the nest over the spikes while she perched on the a thin edge. I would have thought they would work and probably would without my robin's smarts.

Great Bird Deterrent
Easy to install but need to use caution with the spikes. Had to cut a few for better fit but cut easy with a hack saw. They separate easily into 3 sections which was nice and helped them fit into the open areas better. Installed using double sided duct tape and so far no problems but may screw on later. Birds seem to have stayed away so far and that was what we wanted. Would recommend.

Bird Spikes
These really work. Watch in horror as a squirrel reach into one of my bird houses, removed a baby bird and ate it. Two days later I received these spike and immediately installed them. The next morning the squirrel came for his bird meal and after survey his options for breaching the bird house he gave up when he realized there was no safe place for him to grab onto the tree branch. I also put some on the tree that holds birdseed.
