Top product
Initially thought it was very expensive but I have to say that it's well worth the money. The build quality is fantastic and is very robust, I'm sure this will see me through my lifetime. It's very comfortable to hold, use and draw with a good weight to it, I have used this for hours without suffering any fatigue I'm my hand or fingers.

Totally worth the money, a lovely pencil
This feels like a luxury item and although it's relatively expensive compared to a standard plastic mechanical pencil it is very cheap compared to other eye-candy writing gadgets. It also feels lovely to use, the weight and finish oozing quality and sitting very comfortably in the hand.An unexpected bonus is that it also draws far more attention than the very expensive Mont Blanc pens favoured by the style-conscious in my work place. I don't own a Mont Blanc, because that would be throwing away money I don't have on a status symbol I don't need, so it is nice to have a an object of desire for a fraction of the cost.Another bonus is that so far I'm the only one with this in my office. The plastic pencils that I usually use are ubiquitous and being fairly cheap people tend to walk away with them. This pen feels too expensive to casually "borrow" and is also, thus far, unique in the office. I intend to explore the possibility of engraving my name on it in case more people buy them.

Almost, but not perfect
I like pencil a lot+ Grip and feel are excellent+ I think design is cool (reminds me of a machine tool with knurled grips, hexagonal barrel and the brass sleeve for leads)+ Sleeve retracts with a quick twist which is very handy / no pushing leads back in+ The stylus seems OK for calculator and swyping on tablet. I don’t do any detailed work with it- There is some play in the twist mechanism and whilst I think some has to be expected in any mechanical object, I had expected less for price- I don’t like having eraser as too small to be useful. Although common in mechanical pencils it does not make it a good idea to have included on this pencil- It would have been better if Rotring included a thin rod for clearing broken leadsThis is why I gave it 4 rather than 5. Please don’t misunderstood this - it is still the best pencil I have used, but if these 3 minor points could be fixed it would be more amazing that you could imagine a pencil beingThis is the 3rd Rotring pencil I have purchased in past few months, so some lessons learnt from buying the others (which you might be considering)600+ I think this may have felt better in hand- Unfortunately the sleeve bent and I also managed to stab myself a couple of timesI think for general use the 800+ is better bet and if you can afford to pay this much for a pencil then you probably don’t care much about paying extra for 800 +Tikky+ It is fraction of price of 600/800+- The grip and feel is not as good- I find this to be unreliableI can’t really say if paying 6 x price of a Tikky for an 800 + is value for money … probably isn’t but the 800+ better designed and engineered product and a pleasure to hold.

Substance and style
Great cross over stylus from the kings of German precision engineered technical pens...stylus is good quality but the main thing is it has SUBSTANCE! Weight and quality, milled aluminium and steel body feels like it's designer was making sure it followed the old rotring pens 'serious' attitude. Pencil mech is perfect of course and it wins the meeting room 'mines better than yours' war. I am an architect and these things matter!

I don't usually write reviews
i don't usually write reviews on the products that I buy but thid product has to be an exception. A year ago I bought the 0.7mm silver version of this product and its quality has always remained the same (except the rubber tip which had to be replaced but such replacements come with the product), the mechanical pencil has an astonishing build quality, it's not heavy and it doesn't roll off your desk. My love for this product was so great that I had to buy the 0.5 black version (which seems to have a better turning mechanism). Overall I'd say that the money is well spent and that you most likely won't be disappointed.
