I got this for my granddaughter for her birthday, it is exactly what she asked for, and she was thrilled.

I have varnished a few paintings with US Art Supply high gloss varnish, as well as with the matte varnish. I applied it carefully with two thin layers each after a day of drying time. It thickens quickly so I had to work quickly. It goes on with a lot of bubbles, so I had to go over it until the bubbles were smoothed out. If I left bubbles behind, they tend to stay a little white for a long time. I'm hoping they will dry out more clearly eventually. But this is problematic. It might keep me from buying more of the product. It also left lines and marks of whatever brush I used, so I tried several different brushes to find the best and found a soft brush worked best. I also learned to move the varnish brush strokes with the strokes of paint in the paintings to make the marks work with the art. The matte varnish seems to be a little cloudy, It took away some of the clarity in the art. I will have to take into account what these varnishes do and only use them when they are appropriate to the art. The price does reflect the value of the product appropriately.

At first, I thought the texture coming out of the tube would be gunky but instead, it mixes easily into the matte paint to become creamy and very translucent. It is not noticeable in the wet paint mix, but the painted finished product is richer and glossy looking.

I bought this to add body to my metallic acrylic paints. It did just that. The gloss feature and transparency on drydown work well. The only slight down side is that it very slightly diminishes the metallic effect.

It was very thick. WAS DRYING BEFORE I GOT IT SPREAD.

I realize now that there are no clean up instructions because it simply does not completely come off of your applicator. I ruined several brushes trying to find the right one. I was successful in applying the finish to one of my paintings. Then after cleaning and completely let the brush dry out as instructions indicate it can not be mixed with water. I then used the same brush on the next painting and completely destroyed the art I was trying to protect. The product sticks to itself and since it also won't completely come off of a brush it will destroy your art unless you use a new brush after every use. Don't buy this product for finishing your completed acrylic art.

I just add a little to my paints to add that extra shine

J'ai appliqué le vernis d'un aspect visqueux et épais. Sur peinture acrylique noire. Pas du tout haute brillance mais mat et laisse des résidus blanchâtres sur le noir. A gâché ma peinture !!!Je veux le retourner. Plus jamais je ne vais l'acheter !!!
