well worth the purchase
Great value for the money. If you don't want to pay the premium prices for and official product, this is a very good option. I have a Force FX Vader saber and you can tell the difference while holding it. The hilt looks great but isn't metal like the Force FX and not near as substantial feeling. The blade for this product is just a hollow tube and not sequential LEDs like more advance sabers have....basically a flashlight down a tube. This is my only real disappointment in this product TBH.It can be displayed with or without the blade which is a HUGE plus for me. The Force FX Vader one I have is a serious PITA to remove the blade and not worth the trouble. The blade seats in easily and hex screws hold it in securely and I felt comfortable "banging" it against things to view effects and sounds. The "features" of this saber take a little bit to get used to but are fun once you get the hang of them. Colors are fine and changing them to what I wanted took some trial and error after reading the instructions. The sound board is good and there are a lot of settings you can adjust including volume, blade effects etc. The only issue is this is mostly done with one button and like I said, takes a while to get the hang of it.All in all a fantastic purchase, especially since I got it on sale and coupon and paid less than $80 out the door.

Amazing Product! Other Review May Be a Bit Inaccurate
The media could not be loaded. First of all, my boyfriend absolutely loved it! I purchased it for his birthday, and I will say it is well worth the price! Many of the reviews on here mention they had to replace the lightsaber in order to get a working one. I thought my first lightsaber didn't work as well, and I also had to replace it. But now I've been questioning if I was wrong about the first one. With both sabers, I pieced the hilt and blade together only for it to not work initially. Then I charged them, and still, nothing would come of it. But then I noticed something the second time that I didn't try the first time. When you put the blade into the hilt, you need to make sure you hold the blade all the way down as you tighten the screws in. Otherwise, the blade will move slightly up, causing it to not make the full connection with the spokes inside the hilt. To prove this, I held the blade in without the screws first and was able to turn the saber on. It will stay on if you let go of the blade as well. I feel as though the instructions should be more clear with this as well as with operating the other features. Once I got it to work, it was fantastic! Much better than the cheaper blades sold on Amazon! I honestly wish this was my saber, but it was so amazing to see how much my boyfriend loved it! He was too busy checking out his new toy while I was trying to show him his other gifts!

A decent obi wan replica for a budget
So, I was looking for a budget replica of obi wan's sabre, that could be part of an ensemble costume. It comes out of the box really shiny, has a USB C cord for charging, which is great and has a bunch of different sound effects and colours that can be changed with a hand movement or with a variation of button presses.I have really expensive lightsabers and some mid range ones. In my pictures are saberforge (top $350), This sabre and Disneyland (bottom $220). The disney sabers are way too chunky, so this fits right in the hand. Both the disney and saberforge sabers use a heavier metal, so this does feel much lighter and will sit on my belt without dragging it down as much.Charging is easy, you unscrew the pommel and plug it in. The instructions are simple but do the trick. The one downside here.On the saberforge and disney sabers, the blades are made secure. D uses a push and twist method but hte blades have their LEDS throughout the blade, so you dont really want to do any combat with it. The saberforge has a tiny screw about two and a half inches from the hole in the top. The LEDS are in the hilt, but light up really well. With this saber, there are four small screws that go in the top of the hilt to hold in the blade. They are small, fiddly and have to come out all the way to be used. I cant see this being helpful in a quick change sort of way or in the dark where you cant see anything. I forsee these screws going missing at some point soon. The colour changing and sound effects are all based on teh button being held for some time. I found a kenobi one that I liked, then the next day, it was offering a whole new set of colours and effects that werent an option the previous day and none of them were what I was using before. I need to give this another try at some point.TLDR: Lightweight materials, the ability to change colours. Nice and loud and a good quality blade. The controls are not intuititve and the quality is lower than more expensive sabers.

Blade loses power: 3 different blades in 30 days, all dead quickly
2 Stars:I got one of these, dead blade out of the box. Very simple return and got a replacement delivered very quickly. Worked great for about two weeks. Tonight, the blade stopped lighting up, just like the first one was out of the box. No big hit or anything that would have caused some damage, just quit. A lightsaber that doesn’t light up is pretty lame.Update: 1 Star For about 80 more dollars, I ordered a replacement blade. Because I now know this thing is delicate, I treated it VEEEERY GENTLY. Just moving it around and light tapping. The new blade stopped working in 30 minutes. Since this was all still within the first 30 days, I gave up and returned everything. The claim of “Heavy Dueling” for this item is a lie. When it works, it is pretty great for what it is, but it truly just doesn’t work.Update: Zero stars. 1.5 years later, the seller is now harassing me to take down this honest review. They are sending messages to my PERSONAL EMAIL, every day, under two very obviously false identities. In these daily emails, they are offering to bribe me $50 to do delete this review. Please leave me alone. I don’t deserve to be email-harassed every day just because I bought something defective on Amazon and was honest about it. Don’t like my honest review? Then you should have run an honest business.
