amazing quality jack, second to none!
If you are looking to replace your failed headphone jack, this is the one!My sennheiser HD 205 headphones had a faulty jack which eventually just wares due to very poor design, this was driving me crazy having to move the cable around until it worked properly until the point when it stopped working all-together.seriously I have tried using 2 other 'cheap' efforts and on one of the cheap ones the solder didn't even stick! this however is incredible quality, very well designed so that the cable can't slip and made from metal housing instead of plastic. The pack it comes in has very precise instructions on the lengths of cable to cut which I was very impressed with, from following these measurements it ensured a very snug fit once soldering was done, for the first time ever made the job of soldering a new headphone jack very easy and problem free. After using very poor and cheap quality 3.5mm jacks before this one I can safely say this blows the competition out of the water! in short you get what you pay for!I'd highly recommend this jack over all the other competition.

Fixed my headphones
I have two Sony MDR-W08L headphones that have some inherent problem with the contacts inside the jack. I have replaced a pair already, but the new one broke again. The headphones are not expensive, but instead of buying a third pair, I decided to replace its faulty jack. Very happy to report that after 20 minutes of preparing the cables and soldering, my headphones are like new! This Neutrik plug is really easy to work with, the wires are easy to solder and overall the quality seems to be excellent, with all metal body and tight grip on the headphones cable. Highly recommended.

Absolutely impossible to solder the ground cable. After more ...
Absolutely impossible to solder the ground cable. After more than one hour and three attempts I had to chuck it in the bin.

Worth it if you want something that will last a long time
These are rather expensive headphone plugs. However, they're well designed and have some good features. The cable restraint protects the cable inside from being pulled loose, and the rubber end stops it being twisted and breaking the wires inside. The angled shape tends to protect the wire better too.I have found that with care they can be un-soldered, cleaned up and easily used again a few times at least, so decent value for money. The clearances inside are pretty tight however, so bringing the cables in from the inner side of the tabs and placing them flat against the tabs before soldering is essential to allow the case to fit. I applied a little flux to the tabs and found they took solder (60/40 type) nicely. There were no specific instructions how to assemble them, although it wasn't too hard to figure out. It's worth spending a moment working it out before soldering anything. As a side note, headphone wires can be a pain to solder because the wires inside are often enamel coated and resist solder for a while. Rather than overheat the joint and damage something, carefully twisting the headphone wires in to a single strand, then slowly passing them through a ball of molten solder on the tip of the iron for a moment should break down the coating and tin them nicely. The debris tend to collect on the end and can be clipped off if you plan ahead and leave a bit of excess. Practice on the wires from the plug you cut off to perfect this before doing the real thing.

High quality connector
Nice connector, a bit fiddly due to size but assembles easily (check Neutrik's website for a manual, including insulation / cable cutting lengths).Make sure you put the gland on the cable before you solder!

Good quality
Indeed very good quality. It does require a bit of expertise to solder cables onto it. Resorted to buying a replacement earphone.

Excellent product
This is a really well made plug and I have been using my repaired headphones for some time now since I fitted it. Tinning and then soldering the tiny wires of my Koss headphones without them disintegrating was an absolute nightmare of a job but once done the strong plastic cable grip of the plug has held the cable very securely. It's also good to know that if the cable does break again in the future I can re-use the plug to fix it again. The plug's a little chunky compared to the original plug that it replaced but this has not been a problem. I would recommend this product as a means of bringing back your beloved headphones from the grave thus avoiding the much greater expense of replacing them.

Money Saver
Having already bought 2 sets of headphones this year, I thought I wouldn't spend an extra £15 to £20 on a set of headphones that would break like the previous sets. Searching for products, this appeared. More expensive than the rest but much stronger. Arrived two days before expected. Instructions were provided for wire length cutting, but they were unclear. Soldering instructions were not provided, but I got it right. 1 day of use, already much better. Can salvage the other pair of headphones as well. Really happy with it. My soldering leaves something to be desired though.EDIT: Given up on it, I get one bus journey out of it before I have to repair it. Not ideal for everyday life where it gets screwed up and shoved in pockets.

wertiger Winkelstecker
