Read this third in the series on RR - SO GOOD!!!
This is wonderful stuff as always and continues to delight with proper Vampiric goodness, i.e. Gore, Blood, fights and more fights. The MC continues to grow and is a delight as a character and what really adds to this wonderful series is the great supporting characters. They allow the author to weave a wonderful web of delight that has our heroine, she is my opinion, living a very interesting life that involves friendships, biting, fighting and lots of hunting down of the evil out there.Add into this mix Magic, 1800s US events and good old religious shenanigans it really adds up to a page turner that is a joy to read so download and enjoy :-D

Fun
Once more, this is another fun addition to the series, with interesting revelations that unfolded, retribution, met, and new companions introduced. If you enjoyed the first two books, I see no reason why you wouldn’t enjoy this one.

Old-school vampire stories done right
This series to date is pre-sparkling-angsty-fluff vampire storytelling at it’s best.No teeth-gashing teen angst. No Hamiltonesque graphic sex every other chapter. And no stupid sparkles in the sunlight … real vampires don’t do sunlight! The series opens in the early 1800s and has covered around 30 years so far, so even though the MC is pretty much immortal there’s plenty of time for some excellent character development, which the author does very well. I like that the series begins so long ago - I would absolutely love to follow Ariane through the decades into modern times, watching her grow her abilities as she copes with burgeoning human population and the rise of technology - not to mention all the wars that’ve happened since then. The MC begins her “life” as a new undead in typically traumatic fashion. The author pulls no punches, and neither do her fellow vampires. She’s definitely the newbie punching bag, though her vampire sire is one of the most powerful on the planet (and both psychotic and utterly sociopathic) so she has a leg up and progresses far faster than fledglings normally do.There’s very little sex or romance in any of these books - just plenty of blood, battles and tenacity. The MC develops several friendships and alliances among both vampires and other supernaturals, which she certainly needs because most vampires hate and fear her sire and those feelings fall on her - and unlike her sire, she’s not nearly powerful enough to kill them all.The writing is excellent for an indie author, with few typos and decent editing overall. There’s nothing radically new here, but the plots (and characters) are twisty enough to keep you engaged and turning the pages to see what happens next. Can’t wait for the next book!If you’re looking for other enjoyable vampire stories from indie authors you may not have heard of, check out the Storm Chronicles by Skye Knizley, the Vengeance In Blood trilogy by Thomas A. Watson, the Bite Back series by Mark Henwick and for something slightly different, the Sisters In Arms series by D.J. Bershaw.

Great third book
I love this series and I hope the next book comes out very soon. Only point that I criticize a litte is the length of this book.

An entertaining journey.
I would primarily classify this series as pulp fiction. It isn't ground breaking, but it remains a very satisfying read. Enough so that I was disappointed the next novel was not out yet. It may not be high literature, but I certainly found myself disappointed that there currently isn't a next book to the series.
