Current Australian Favorites
After being a British Baking Show fan for many seasons, it was fun to see an Australian take and variations of typically British bakes. This is a book full of fun baking adventures.

Not for dieters
This Australian woman’s weekly cookbook of deserts, is full of full coloured pictures and in depth recipes. The book has 191 pages of recipes and other information, including a conversion chart from metric to imperial measurements.The recipes are easy to follow step by step, with a full colour picture on how it should turn out. If you cannot get hold of a certain item, or you don’t want to include things like alcohol, just look for an alternative or leave it out. If you cannot find certain fruit, then use tinned.I have included a video and photos of the book, to give you a better idea of what’s inside.

Lovely Dessert cookbook
The Australian Women's Weekly Desserts Recipe book has a really wonderful range of recipes and it has plenty of lovely food photography.There is a a brief introduction and then five main sections:-Fresh and Fruity-Chocolate and Coffee-Nuts and Caramel-Spices and herbs-Special occasionsThe recipes range in their difficulty, there are easy recipes with little ingredients such as the 'Lemon Sherbet Granita' and then there are more complex recipes such as the 'Florentine-topped fruit cake'.All of them are very accessible though, and they all have a prep-cook time and how many people it will serve which I find super helpful. The ingredients have both cup and metric measurements. If the recipe requires pastry it is usually pre-made.There are so many recipes that I want to try in the book as they all sound delicious!

let down by economy
This is an OK bakery cook book, most of the recipes look good BUT and sadly this is where this book will not get used (or maybe even not brought for this reason) the book's recipes are expensive! In todays economy you couldn't justify a lot of the recipes, for example the very small nut tartlets (recipe makes 4) would cost a little under £15 to make here in the UK, I cannot justify that cost for baking. they ask for specific cocoa powder, booze is needed for a fair few recipes, I am not really a drinker but to get sherry in for one of the recipes plus the ingredients again your looking at a costly bake (over £20) and it is a small bake. Also being in the UK getting ripe fruits they ask for is near impossible I've never had a ripe mandarin & not heard of some of the other ingredients required. The recipes need to be scaled down price wise, I tried the lime & cocnut slab cake today & it didn't cook in the middle for an hour by the end the whole thing was a very dried out mess, this book claims these are 'triple' tested recipes, I am not a amature baker but I am disappointed my first back from this didn't work, it really puts me off using again :( It is a well put together book, each recipe has a photo for it and it is put in UK units which is great, I am not 100% sure who this book is aimed at with the costs & ingredients required someone with money and time to acquire the ingredients, this isn't me.
