Before purchasing this I looked at a number of books on Monet but each time I was drawn back to this. It is fairly definitive, containing a very wide selection of Monet's paintings and giving a very accessible and detailed account of Monet's life. The balance throughout is perfect and the book is aesthetically appealing in itself. I would recommend this without reservation to anyone who wants an enjoyable overview of Monet's life and work. Better than all the competition that I managed to find!
