Very good equipment.

I have purchased at least 4 flat irons in the past and never found one that REALLY smoothed my hair the way I wanted it to unless I kept repeating in the same spot over and over again and over time it dried out my hair even more and made it frizz even more. I checked the videos of this item and went ahead and ordered it since I found this particular one to be the best price. This steam flat iron really does work like the video!. One swipe and my hair goes from course frizzy, dull and dry looking into smooth, silky shiny and healthy looking. AND the results last until I wash my hair again. I've been telling all my friends about it.

It comes packaged well. Filling up and attaching the steam compartment takes a bit of practice. It isn't hard once you get the hang of it. I like that it has different heat settings but I have yet to figure out how to actually set them. I have tried holding down the button on the setting I want but the light just continues to scroll. Eventually it will stop at whatever setting it feels like stopping on. I do like the steam feature and it isn't too hot and it does make my hair nice and straight and soft. I wish the directions were a bit easier to follow and understand.

I did a lot of research before I bought this straightener. I looked at all the brands and watched all the YouTube tutorials and I kept coming back to this one. Now that I have it I'm in love. I have fine, fragile, frizzy dirty blonde hair hair naturally and I constantly dye it, blow dry and straighten/curl it. So my hair has seen a lot of damage. This one does have heated plates so it's still going to damage a little. I only take it up to 370° since I have fragile hair. It takes me the same amount of time to straighten my hair with this tool as it did my last. But my hair seems so much healthier afterwards. It's a little more shiny but way softer. If I straighten my hair and then pull it back into a pony tail I'll have a crease until I wash my hair again. Idk how the steam helped but if I do that now it won't leave a crease so I can but my hair back down. The only learning curve is to make sure I hold the end of it differently because that's where the steam comes out and it will burn. But they send you 2 heat resistant gloves with it. I believe it showed up a day earlier than it was supposed to. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with any hair type.

This worked well, but the heat of it...not even at highest setting...melted it.

I bought this after doing a little on-line research about the "best" steam flat irons for African-American hair. This device came up in my research but, WHY? When it arrived, I got a small, plastic squeeze bottle that only purpose was, for me filling it with water and squeezing water drops into a black steam chamber where there were no places for water!...uhh, unless, I followed the picture that showed a hand squeezing drops into two little holes that loomed like little nail holders, not something for water to be added. So I squeezed a few drops into the holes, and covered up the chamber again with the annoying cover/protector. Then I plugged it up and got...NOTHING! The thing was dead. I had tried to use this since, my beautician had a steam thingy in her shop that she charged me too much money for my daughter to use. I had read that the steam flat iron is safer on African-American hair, since it adds more moisture than does the standard flat iron. But after trying to use THIS baloney steamer thing, I think it likely is just another way for manufacturers to make yet more money from the insecure woman - especially, African-American woman, with naturally kinky, hard-to-European-ize hair locks! I'm glad I returned this! And I replaced it with - standard hair straighteners commonly used by ALL women - African-Americans included - to straighten anyone's hair after washing it!

I am Asian with coarse, thick hair. I loved this product as it has steam ability. My hair is shoulder length and so on days when it's very unruly, I would need to refill the water container (so would use 2 containers). On days that I just need a touch up, one container will do without need for refill. The steamer is nice and hot. For my coarse thick hair, I would use the highest available heat setting. I love that the item came with a pair of gloves to ward off the heat, as well as a carrying bag. The item came very quickly, and I had no issues with the product. I have been using it on a daily basis, and nothing is wrong with it so far. It heats up quickly, and goes very smoothly through my thick hair. The heat and steam makes it very smooth and extremely sleek.I am not paid for this review. I am a live person, who bought this product and really used it daily.
