Q: Do you need to program the esc? i’m running this motor and esc in my 2wd slash. motor gets pretty hot. change gearing? program? motor fan?

I would say yes you do. When I installed in my redcat volcano, the motor just chattered under load. You need to program it. eBay has programmer for about 12 bucks

Q: what are the dimensions of the motor im putting it in a 1/16 i need to make sure it has clearance

this motor is about 2 inches long and has a diameter of about 1.4 inches.
