Amazon BasicsColoured Pencils in Tin Box, Pack of 72 - Assorted Colours

I bought these, having heard good reports of them from other artists. Many bargain products fall short on quality but these pencils really do not disappoint. I already own a set of Derwent Coloursoft pencils which are very waxy and soft and I've struggled with these. I recently also purchased a smaller set of Faber Castell Polychromos which, unlike these two other sets, are oil based rather than wax based, so are harder. The Amazon Basics fall more or less between the ultra-soft Derwents and the hard Polychromos so I think I have all bases covered now. The Amazon pencils layer beautifully and respond very well to a light touch, and there's a huge range of colours. There is a good choice for blending skin tones too. They seem to be very high quality.They come in a tin with removable trays but I don't like these as they are rather flimsy. I had the same problem with the Derwent Coloursoft pencils and bought a case from Amazon for those, so I bought the identical case in a different colour for the new Amazon pencils - a neat and compact case which holds 72 pencils and has pockets inside the case for your bits and pieces. All but one of the "pages" are attached with Velcro so are removable, which is handy. Amazon - please take note of this - artists do require open stock availability as some pencils get a lot more use than others.Apart from this, very thrilled with this set of pencils which are extremely good value for such a high quality product.

I may not be professional but as a young artist in his first years of high school i find these coloured pencils perfect.here i will be giving a brief overview of these budget friendly coloured pencils.first off these pencils are very buttery and smooth perfect for realism.the colours are vibrant and match the barrel on the pencil and are colour-coded which is a big win for artists and swatching.i also found the colours in this perfect array of coloured pencils were very saturated.they also layer like a dream.although there are some downsides such as:.the barrels are not thick (prone to breakage).the gold is a bit scratchy.a few less skin tones to my preference Again with the goods these pencils come in a good quality metal tin although they come in flimsy plastic holders . I also love this tin because the metal is perfect to customise or even just leaving it plain looks beautiful in your art room.Overall these pencils are great for beginners students and just artists that run around for fun. These are not professional grade though for them I recommend a premium brand such as prismacolour. I hope this overview of these amazon basics coloured pencils. Helps you decide if there worth it. I just got a set of 72 Amazon Basics coloured pencils, and the first thing I noticed is that they were REALLY well packaged: in the tin, in a plastic bag to prevent it getting scratched, in bubblewrap to prevent shocks to the large flat surfaces top and bottom from damaging the tin or its contents, surrounded by foam on all sides similarly, then in a corrugated cardboard box. If Amazon can do this for a set of 72 pencils that sells for under £9, why can't e.g. Derwent better-protect their rather more premium products?The second thing I noticed was that the colour numbers match Marco Raffine coloured pencils exactly, and the colours seem very close - if not identical - also. The cores are thick, but the round wooden barrel is quite thin.

Arrived safely packaged. Great range of labelled and numbered colours. Softer than usual but strong colours, easy to work with.Trays holding pencils have indents ,so the layers are easy to remove. The lid isn't hinged so will hold the 2nd layer of pencils easily. I'm

Had seen these on many utube reviews and they have been touted as excellent. The pencils have a excellent range of colours, are soft and creamy and really nice to use. But was disappointed that virtually every pencil broke (I'm very light handed, so not an issue I normally have). The ones that didn't after sharpening (only a few) chipped constantly. So spent a lot of time getting to know my sharpener. Other issue, albeit a silly one, every time I've seen these advertised they have come in a beautifully decorated metal tin. Mine came in a plain silver metal tin. Was a real let down, I know they are cheap, and for the cost good value but it would have been nice to get the nicer tin to keep them in. I also òbrought the 24 set as a gift but didn't get the nicer tin for those either. With the decorated tin and a little less time wasted sharpening them would have been 5 stars for value.

Als beginner had ik voor deze geopteerd na het lezen van een paar positieve reviews. Ze zijn heel zacht en mengen gemakkelijk. Ook schaduwen gaat probleemloos. Als het degelijk moet zijn voor een fijne prijs zijn deze zeker aan te raden.

Ich male gerne und viel mit Buntstiften, und bin so immer wieder neugierig darauf neue Produkte auszutesten. In den sozialen Medien (speziell in den USA) werden diese Buntstifte gehyped und gerne mit den Prismacolor verglichen. Ich war neugierig, zumal ich nicht einmal wusste, dass Amazon in der Basiclinie Buntstifte hat. Und so habe ich die kleine 24er Packung zum testen bestellt.Geliefert wird eine gut verarbeitete Metalldose. Beim Öffnen habe ich hinein geschnuppert, da einige in Rezensionen einen unschönen chemischen Geruch moniert hatten. Es roch dezent nach Essig, was nach einer Viertelstunde fast verschwunden war.Die Farbauswahl ist okay bei 24 Stück. Wären es meine "Hauptstifte", würde mir der eine oder andere Ton fehlen. Da die große Box aber ebenso ein Schnapper ist, und dort die Auswahl groß ist, ist das kein Argument gegen das Produkt.Das "Handgefühl", also die Haptik, gefällt mir nicht so sehr. Sie fühlen sich sehr günstig an, was sie aber auch sind. Ich habe nicht nachgewogen, aber sie fühlen sich etwas leichter an als zum Beispiel die Faber Castell Polychromos. Die Dicke ist dabei vergleichbar. Günstig fühlen sie sich für mich vor allem deshalb an, weil sie (meiner Meinung nach) nicht lackiert sind, sondern in einer "Plastikhülle" stecken. Zumindest fühlt es sich so an. Das wiederum kenne ich von anderen günstigen Stiften. Daher der Vergleich.Die Minen sind nicht 100%ig in der Mitte. Aber auch das ist bei diesem Preis absolut okay.Viel wichtiger ist, wie sie malen, und das beeindruckt! Die Farben sind kräftig und deckend. Der Farbabstrich ist von Farbe zu Farbe unterschiedlich, aber insgesamt recht weich. Sanfte Übergänge sind gut realisierbar, schichten/layern ist ganz gut möglich. Irgendwann kommt der Punkt, an dem auf eine sehr wachsige Schicht nichts mehr auftragbar ist, was aber bei anderen Herstellern auch irgendwann meistens der Fall ist.Thema "Anspitzen": das funktioniert wunderbar. Die Mine kann mühelos sehr spitz gespitzt werden. Minen sind mir nicht gebrochen bisher.Fazit: Es sind keine Prismacolor. Es sind keine Polychromos. Sie kosten aber nur einen Bruchteil davon, weshalb der Vergleich müßig ist. Wer sich für die 72er Box entscheidet, zahlt gerade einmal etwa 19 Cent pro Stift. Dafür bekommt man Stifte, die richtig viel Spaß machen, auch wenn man viel malt und etwas anspruchsvoller ist. Für die schnelle Studie, den festgehaltenen Gedanken, ein emotionales Gekritzel, das Ausmalbuch, Bastelarbeiten, für Kinder... Das passt. Ich habe für mehr Geld schon viel schlechtere Stifte gekauft. Die hier werden also nicht auf dem Stapel nicht genutzter Stifte landen, sondern weiter genutzt. Hype bestätigt!
