Careful on 9mm Sterling C-IV Canyon Rope
Bought this due to supply issues with a Madrock Safeguard for saddle hunting. Simply doesn’t hold on Sterling C-IV Canyon Rope. Followed Mammut’s specs and the rope will slip unless you back it up with a prusik or Kong Duck. I’m 6’ 175lbs. I’m sure it’s fine when rappelling, but stationary, it’ll slip. Returning for a GriGri. Need to work hands free.

WOW! I really like this belay device! I have been climbing for 1 year. I have purchased: ATC, ATC Guide, BD Pilot, GriGri, Mammut Smart 2. I like the Pilot and Mammut the best. These two work very well on old stiff gym ropes for TR. LC with your own rope they are outstanding!!! Easy to take, give slack. The carabiner locks onto belay loop. Easy to see if it is locked and blocked. As with any belay device, a bit of a learning curve. Not a huge fan of GriGri.

Mit dem Mammut Smart habe ich ein Sicherungsgerät für die dickeren Hallenseile gefunden. Funktioniert zuverlässig. Karabiner aus Vollaluminium dadurch Gebrauchsspuren nach den ersten Nutzungen und Seilverfärbungen, Edelstahlverstärkung an den Durchlaufstellen wäre super. Karabinerverschluss gut gegen versehentlichens öffnen geschützt.
