Q: Does this have pocket on front, or just main compartment on back?

The bag has 2 vertical zipper pockets on the front (one on each side) - but they are small - I use for my keys, chapstick, etc. The main large compartment can only be accessed by the back zipper.

It will not be too big for a personal item on a plane.

Pockets inside and 2 small zipper pockets on sides. I got it for travel and it was great. Glad I got it and worth the money. Highly recommend
