Purchased this item as a backup in case I have friends over and the ice maker in the main refrigerator can't keep up. It really does make ice after only 6 minutes. The ice cubes are small so you need a lot of them but it makes ice very quickly. Holds about a quart of water and makes a good bit of ice out of it. Will run about 3 hours making ice on a quart of water. Fairly quiet but not really "whisper quiet". I wouldn't put it in my TV room. Put it on the bar in the next room. Really nice to have for ice because you can take it anywhere. Haven't tried it yet but it is supposed to have a self-clean function as well. Worth every bit of t he $85.

About the size of a small bread maker. No water hookup, you need to add water as you consume ice. Bit noisy, like a microwave running. Holds maybe two pounds of ice in an un-insulated bin, so the ice constantly melts. The meltwater falls into the water reservoir where it is used to make ice again. The bin holds enough ice to fill four ‘regular’ iced-t glasses.The bin full detector is an IR beam across the edge of the top of the ice bin. Very often, a piece of ice gets caught on the lip of the bin, interrupting the beam and making the ice maker think it’s bin is full even though it’s only 33%-50% full. I just flick the errant ice cube down into the bin and the ice maker resumes making ice until another errant ice cube again blocks the beam. So I’m constantly fiddling with the ice maker, usually when I’m getting another scoop of ice. A minor irritant…We use this to make ice for drinks for a family of three. We use ice all day long in the hot weather and this unit always has ice available in the bin. We often empty the bin entirely when we all sit down to a meal but this unit produces a small crop of ice cubes every 15 - 20 minutes.

I bought this for my RV as it was recommended on an RV group. We have been using this ice make in our home for about a week. We are surprised that it is so quiet. This machine produces a lot of ice for its size very quickly. The ice tends to be a little wet. I don't know if that is the humidity level in my home or not. I just lift the basket out, give it a few shakes and put it in a plastic bag for later use. It comes with a nice scoop to use for a drink while it is making ice. We couldn't be happier with this compact ice maker. Great value for the price.

I really love this little ice maker. I line in a very small efficiency and have no ice maker in my freezer. I got tired of filling and forgetting to fill trays and then having no ice. This is so simple. I add the water and just let it run. Then when it's full I transfer the ice to a bag (provided) for the freezer. As I mentioned the ice does come out a little wet, so I have to separate it again by hitting the bag after it's been in the freezer. I love the size of the ice and it's perfect for me.

The ice takes about 8-9 minutes to make. Great quality machine also includes a mini ice bag for your freezer, two of us in my house and I’ve also got a cold drink with ice and plenty to fill the bag up as well. Honestly most of the time just use the machine don’t even bother with the bag ice. Pretty simple as well as far as set up. You just plug it in fill it inside with water ( has a fill mark on it) then place the ice basket inside and turn it on.
