What is not good about rabindranath tagore's story. He is one of my favourite authors this book was a great start to peek inside rabindranth tagore's wide imagination and creativity it doesn't feel like a book the book seems to tell it's own story just like our grand parents do. So amazing will totally recommend. Especially for people who romanticise hopless romantic and have a different prespective for this world

Tagore is a legend for sure and you will definitely enjoy reading his works.

Most of the stories touch our hearts with pity and sadness.For example Cabuliwallah,how human relations form and how it become impossible to live without them.Next the son of Rashmani,surely this story spins our heart with sorrow and also postmaster.Every story has its own value.

The stories from Rabindranath Tagore has a unique linkage to it. It is such vivid that you seem to transport to a different world getting mesmerized by the story. While being a Bengali. I have had the opportunity to take the real essence of it, not everyone has such liberty!The translation done by the English authors are quite commendable but can never truly replicate Tagore's works. Maybe, the nostalgia of the childhood stories and scriptures made me reluctant for awarding full five stars out here.I strongly believe this is perfect for non-native Bengali speakers.

Our indian kids should read tagore sir . Stories are so heart touching . The language is also easy to understand.

Excellent Read

This volume provides us with a handful of Tagore's stories, all of which brim with pathos, humor, and humanity. Taken together, this collection reminds us our frailties and strengths do not lie in opposition, so much as they provide us with the dimension and strength to grow.

One of India's greatest writers, he captures a feeling of the life of India in his stories. Much like Anton Chekhov does for Russia. He tells his stories without judgement. We are left to draw our own conclusions. Unlike the west, death in this framework is never the end to be avoided. There is a gentle fatalism that is not devoid of hope. People can change, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't and whichever way it goes is just the way it goes. I loved the stories, they have a simple beauty, full of deep understanding and compassion for the human condition.

Takes were illustrative and entertaining. This copy of book itself lacked some of the lines and, as a reproduction, was hard to read.
