Decent bike rack for the price
A usable rack at a good price. What looks to be an identical rack on a surf, ski and bike storage website sells for nearly $100 more. As you can see, the 5 bike capacity is a bit of a stretch. If you are going to be putting bikes on and taking them off with any regularity, 3 is really the most it realistically can hold. I also don't know if this rack would withstand kids beating on it day in and day out for years, but for what I use it for... it should be fine.Easy to put together and relatively stable when loaded. Do not use power tools assembling it, because the metal is a fairly soft alloy. Not a fan of how the two piece uprights go together with a couple hokey brackets and would prefer the upper piece inserted into the lower one with a bolt for each side. This design is probably easier and cheaper to manufacture though.I mounted the hooks hanging down as others have. I center punched and drilled a 5/16th inch hole so the pin inserts on top and holds the hook in place. Works fine this way.

Got our garage back!
Oh my gosh, this is such a huge space saver!! It was easy to install and is a great value. It holds our bikes very stably. I think we could even make room for one more bike than what is pictured! Best of all, it gave us our garage back! 4-5 bikes on kickstands took up so much space!

Sturdy and fits 5 adult bikes
Easy to assemble and sturdy. We were able to fit 5 adult bikes on it but we did modify it a bit. Installing the hooks facing down rather than sideways put a lot less pressure on the tire. We were worried if one got jostled a spoke would be bent the way you're supposed to do it. A few zip ties were all it took. Nbd. Other than that it is a really great value.

Change hook mounts please. No tools included
Fine for cheap bikes but If you have expensive bikes read the below modifications.Biggest issue is the hook mount should be mounted vertically not horizontally. If you have mountain bikes with 2.2+ tires the factory orientation of the hooks will not fit safely. Bikes should hang freely from hooks not pinched between. It'll work but will put an extreme amount of force on the hoops and cause damage long term. I wouldn't use this with my high end bikes without the modification I added. Which is easy: turn the hook from out to down and add 2 zip ties around the hook also flip the c shape of the bracket so that the opening is facing the front of the rack. It'll actually make this rack much more effective by allowing the hooks to slide and the bike will hang freely instead of being pinched at the rim. This may not be recommended but I've had mine hanging for long enough to know it works. If you want it to be more rigid you could use hose clamp.Additional comments:This is a great space saver and faily simple to assemble. Took about 1 hour with power tools. Will take longer if you are not typically handy or have no tools because it doesn't come with tools.

This solved my N+1 bike problem.
This free standing rack is exactly what I needed. I already have bikes hanging from the ceiling. My big problem was needing more bikes. The rack solved the problem giving me more floor space to move around in my garage. It was easy to assemble. Took about 20 minutes to set up with my driver and socket set. You might be able to replace the footpads with caster wheels to make it mobile. This will be my next project to make it easier to clean around the rack.I was able to fit five adult size mountain bikes on the rack by alternating the position of the handlebars. The only drawback is the tight fit. I plan on serving as the bike valet for my wife when she needs her bike.edit to add: Although I can squeeze the hook around a 2.2" mountain bike tire an rim, it is a tight squeeze that requires tilting the wheel just right for the fit. It would be fantastic if the manufacturer made larger hooks available as an upgrade.

Worst Amazon Item Candidate
This may be my most hated item over $100 that I've purchased from Amazon. It is just so poorly designed. The width is stupid because it will not fit 5 bikes unless you plan on taking 3 to 4 bikes off just to mount/dismount. The hooks do not accommodate a modern mountain bike and forces me to air down every time. I'm really wrestling with my frugality because it really should go away as a free item on Nextdoor.

Rubber on hooks tears
The rubber on each and every hook split significantly after hanging bikes, even kid bikes, for the first time.Edit: I did not follow up with the seller on this issue, but they offered a full refund - which I did not take -and asked for pictures of the damaged hooks. As a result, I'm bumping this up to 4 stars as a result of what appears to be really good customer service. I should mention, that even with the rubber splitting, the rack serves its purpose. I may wrap them with a rag or something in the future.
