Great toy with great features
What a great little toy. I bought this for my daughters 5th birthday. At first i was worried as the reviews stated it would be to old for a 5yr old but it was what she wanted so went ahead and purchased anyway. So glad i did. Admitedley some aspects are for older children however my daughter hasnt put this down and has got to grips with it well. A bonus as i know this is a toy that will grow with her.Camera, a great feature you can use this to simply take pictures or play the dress up game where it allows you to place all sorts of bits and bobs on someones face. Daughter thought turning our faces into funny pictures was hillarious.Diary function. A great way to teach kids how to spell and write sentances. Also nice for an older child to have somewhere super secret to record their thoughts.Voice actication. This has never let my daughter down. Shes managed to access her diary each time and weve had no problems with it. True to its word mum and dad have tried many times in many silly voices to open it and its denied us each time.Games. Great set of games on here for even the younger child. Its also a great teaching point. My daughter didnt know about capital and small case letters yet but this unit has taught her about them in one of the games. Its also helped her spelling and allowed her to recognise pitch, tobe and rythm and speed in music.Virtual pet. Similar to a tamagotchi its what youd expect. You get 3 choices a cat dog or horse.Overall a great toy with great features. Small enough to carry around but not to small as its not worth playing on. Full colour screen. Not too loud as some of the electronic toys seem to be. 5 stars well deserved.

Excellent product
My 7 year old has had this now for 2 weeks and takes it everywhere. The games encourage maths and spelling practice and the reward is points to buy things for the digital pets and plants.

Voice recognition has to be exact, perfect diary for kiddies tho
The Diary is brilliant for kids the only downside to this product was the voice recognition password needs to be said in exactly the same way as it was when we created it so pitch tone and clarity need to be perfect or it says password invalid, it takes a few tries but got back into it in the end.My daughter loves the educational games and her pets on it, but her favourite item that came with the diary is the invisible pen that is revealed when the light in the pen is shone on it, Definitely worth the money paid for it.

Be aware that the diary Is compatible with microSD/microSDHC memory cards up to 32GB.
My daughter of 8 enjoyed this gift. Of course It's low tech compared to an iPad or kindle fire, but it has some nice touches which make it nice for the age group it is aimed at. Be careful when buying the memory card to make sure you only go up to 32Gb (it states this limit in the instructions, and I've tried and failed with a 64GB card). Unfortunately, Amazon put a "buy with " link for this toy to a 64Gb card which was misleading.

Iβm jealous
It takes a while to recognise your vocal password. You need to time it right. But it works. Wonβt open for anyone other than my daughter. It has a tray at the bottom to store things like post-its, a decent camera, and a variety of games.

Daughter loves it even though she has an ipad
Daughter loves it even though she owns an ipad. Its weird but my daughter (6 years old) cant get enough of it. The games and typing are like a Tamagotchi Colour graphic style. We did initially struggle with the door opening and closing (to unlock). you kind of have to pull it towards you when you say the password and your hear the mechanism unlock.Someone should just invent a voice activated pink diary lock cover for an Ipad! cause I think that's the real gimmick to the diary.cant argue though as she's is playing with it every day

Hours of fun for my 5yr old daughter
Got this for my daughter for Christmas as it was what she was asking for after seeing it advertised,I wasn't too bothered and didnt pay that much attentionWe recently went away on holiday and she showed me all the features and to be fair , there are loadsTheres games, video and photo editing, a calendar and organiser facial recognition and a music player.I think you can connect it to a media player too, and it can take a micro sd card for more storageThis would have been beyond my wildest dreams when I was 5I'd reccomend

Ok as a bit of fun for kids.
I found the screen to be very small and basic.the size of the keyboard takes up the most space and keys are small. Would have preferred a full screen with digital keys. Overall my daughter likes it.
