üutensil Squisk, Reconstructed Balloon Whisk, Grey and Olive

Who would think that you could still improve the design of something as ubiquitous as the humble balloon whisk?The squisk is AMAZING!Not only is it a perfectly good whisk whether you're making a roux or beating eggs but:It can stand upright in a pan!It genuinely seems to whisk things faster!It's physically impossible for you to get a ball of flour stuck in the middle!Nothing sticks to it, so you can rinse it clean in seconds.Being made from solid plastic, I have no doubt it will last many years..This is such a good whisk I've since bought a few other üutensil products!

I bought this 'squisk' in order to have a non-metal and non-reactive material with which to whisk sourdough starter and stir kefir but to my surprise I've found that I prefer it to a conventional whisk, meaning one where the strands converge in the centre and are closed loops. The key features and benefits are -Reach - the open strands effectively 'reach' into the corners or depths of whatever is being whisked or stirredStrong & flexible - the strands yield to pressure but are strong enough to stir through a sourdough starterEasy clean - this may be the best feature of all and surprises me, but the absence of a central convergence of strands means there is no place for food to get stuck and food doesn't in my experience get stuck within the 'eyes' of the individual strands, cleaning is literally as simple as running water over the whisk strands and wiping down under-waterEffective - It is difficult for me to say whether the open design is more effective at actually whisking but it certainly doesn't seem any less so compared to a conventional whisk of similar size and material

If like me you are fed up with classic whisk surgery (pulling the little end of the whisk apart, often getting trapped fingers in order to clean it thoroughly after each use), then this is the whisk, or indeed 'Squisk' for you!I love the colours, a matt grey and olive finish. The material is very tactile and 'warm' to hold and the Squisk is delightingly (is there such a word, and if not, why not?) light to handle, giving one more control during use. The handle is tapered at the top end which makes the grip more secure comfortable if you have small hands, ensuring walls and any company present enjoy their warm beverage splotch-free. I love the little 'eyes' at the bottom that are much more versatile, and faster at whipping duties than the classic balloon whisk and so very easy to clean! I have used the Squisk (no, I'm not enjoying writing this word frequently) in my beloved non-stick pans with confidence as the construction is a sturdy plastic and therefore, non-threatening to said pans!I heartily recommend this product and would happily collect all the colours, however, how many Squisks does one person need?

bit too big for my saucepans ( when making gravy) but just used larger pot- bristles are "stiffer" than expected as for some reason thought it would be more flexible ( (not sure why) - ie silicon- but no matter still does the job well and soooo easy to clean afterwards- off to hunt for a smaller version if they do one

Lightweight, useful, works well, easy to clean, and looks quirky enough to impress my kids.Oh, and good price.

Second purchase of this. My chef partner loved it so now he now has 2 colours.
