Brilliant!!
This is a fantastic product! It works really well and makes great pasta!I honestly didn't expect much. You see it look so easy online then get it home and its a disappointment, but this is not the case with this product.Watch where you order it from. Philips do not manufacture this machine for the UK, so you are not going to get one with a UK plug and/or UK instruction/recipe booklet. However, I knew this and was ready and waiting with a euro to Uk plug converter. (which you can get on here!)Just ordered the cookie disks for this machine, hoping it works as well as the pasta side of it.Honestly, if you can fill a jug of flour and water up to the indications on the jug and be able to cut the pasta to your desired length using the cutter, you will not have any problems at all with this machine!Give it a go. I love it!

Thank you, Philips!
One of the best kitchen products that I have ever purchased. Totally awesome. If you love homemade pasta as much as I do, you will not regret buying this. I am an Italian cook from an Italian family but, like every other modern woman, I do not have the time to make homemade pasta like my grandmother did! This is the next best thing!

Excellent pasta maker
Excellent product! Works well as per instructions. Only drawback is the pasta takes too long to boil to the right consistency during cooking. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.

Fantastic machine, quick, easy healthy Pasta in a few minutes
I bought this machine (not on Amazon) which is not generally available in the UK. Philips have not yet decided to sell it here, however the EU versions are on sale here. The machine arrived with an EU plug, but it is simple to buy an EU to UK adapter either here on Amazon or, as I did, in my local Sainsburys.Recipes are not in English but they are readily available by a quick google search on either the US or Australian Philips site for this product.Out of the box it was slightly heavier than I expected but that is no bad thing. It felt solid and well made. For a start my friends and I decided to try the Penne attachment. It's as simple as switch the machine on, choose which of the two amounts you want to make (300g to serve 2-3 or 600g to serve 4-6) and go.We initially decided on 2 cups of 00 flour into the machine, switch on, pick the 2 cup option, press start and add 180ml of water. In approx 3 mins after kneading, it began extruding the dough. It took a minute or two to get used to allowing it to extrude to a good length before slicing it off with the slicer tool, however once we got the hang of it, it was super easy. After trying the penne we made egg fettuccini with 1 cup 00 flour & 1 cup of semolina flour. You then add an egg, top up to 190ml in the measuring cup supplied, whisk it a little and slowly pour into the flour mix. Again in a few mins fettuccini started to come out of the machine. We then has the fettuccini for dinner between 6 of us with enough to spare for at least another portion. It was delicious, preservative free, hassle free fresh pasta.Mine did come with English language in the booklet, but even if it had not, it's EASY to find the English instructions and recipes online. The EU plug is very easy to overcome with a simple and very cheap EU to UK adapter. All in all I can highly recommend this machine, you can see in the pics the amount of pasta this makes from just 2 cups (measuring cup is supplied) of flour.

Very disappointed.
I waited a while to get this item. It arrived and I found that the plug fitted to the machine was a 'European' 2-pronged plug. Not only that, but none of the reciepes in the book where in English.Very disappointed.

Warranty not defined
My wife bought this machine in DEC 2015, which was only 3 months ago. It always works fine, however yesterday when I used it, the metal cover started to bend and it no longer fits into my machine any more. I am now waiting for Philips to come back on me for this and I hope my money won't be wasted.

Needs lots of experimenting, but that's (the best) part of the fun!
I am a Japanese living in the UK. I did so much research on this pasta / noodle maker on Japanese websites. I naturally got obsessed with this amazing innovation, as I had recently bought a Marcato pasta machine (with a motor) for making Japanese noodles (udon, soba, ramen) and gyoza (dumpling) wraps, but was beginning to find kneading was quite tiring and time-consuming. So you can imagine how excited I was when I learnt Amazon UK started selling it here! (even before Phillips UK). I didn’t think twice, and just clicked the purchase button.I actually bought the other one of this machine you can find on Amazon UK (HR2355/12), as this one (HR2355/09) was not available but the one other was when I got it. Looking everywhere (e.g., manuals for both models; Amazon Italy site), my conclusion is these two models are exactly the same.As another reviewer said, mine didn’t come with a UK plug or an English recipe book. But as they said, they are problems you can solve easily. The Philips US site and Australian site both offer a downloadable recipe book in English. Some good and not-so-good impressions after owing it for about 6 weeks:- Compared with a traditional pasta machine (even with a motor attachment), this one makes your life much much easier. It is true that dough for Asian noodles needs to rest for a while for chewiness, but without resting, noodles are quite OK.- The most annoying issues I've encountered so far: (a) The front cover moves/swings quite a bit when the noddles are being extruded. This got slightly better when I set the the attachment first onto the main body, not to the front cover, in assembling. Still, the move is quite substantial, and I don't know why Philips couldn't design a better mechanism; (b) There is no way you can avoid dough getting stuck into the attachment. I don't mind wasting a bit of dough, but this sometimes results in clogged holes on the attachment or even an error message. You can only add so much water as a solution, as, if the dough is too watery, it wouldn't come out either (wouldn't be edible). If the stuck dough is getting problematic, all you can is to turn the machine off, dissemble it, and take the offending dough out.- Out of all I made using this machine, I think pasta is the best. It could be that my criteria are lower for pasta than Asian noodles and wraps. I simply followed the recipe for the pasta, except that I mixed semolina flour and strong flour 50/50.- In general, the water-flour ratio in the recipe (90ml water for 250ml flour) results in noodles/pasta on a dry side. But this is necessary due to the mechanism of the machine.- That said, experimenting is a key. You should follow the recipes first, but afterwards try any deviations you may fancy!- I have to say these European models (HR2355/07/09/12) ARE for European demands. I wish I could buy attachments for udon (which is a standard for the Japanese model, and you can buy it as an option only in Australia; HR2403/06), or even one for angel hair / thin ramen or one for flat noodles / kishi-men (which you can get in the US; HR2401/05), in the UK.- Another thing these European models are not so good (for me, at least) is that you don’t have options for the duration for kneading. The Japanese model offers a choice between 5, 6, 7, 8 mins, whereas these European models have a set duration of 3 mins for kneading, followed by extruding without any pause or beep. My solution is to turn the machine off after 3 mins, then start again (and repeat, as necessarily).- The lasagne / gyoza attachment is awful for gyoza wraps! At least, Japanese gyoza would need thinner wraps. And the sheets that come off the machine are so dry you can’t even thin them by a rolling pin. It’s such a shame, as I was really looking forward. I have gone back to my Marcato pasta machine for gyoza wraps.- If you’re interested in making soba (buckwheat noodles) – you can be more brave and increase the ratio of buckwheat (vs. strong flour) than recommended in the recipe. I’ve managed to make up to 7:3 soba (buckwheat vs. strong) in somewhat decent forms. As you know, buckwheat flour doesn’t contain much gluten, so the more you use it, the more fragile the noodles will be. But the smell of buckwheat flour is divine and you’ll love soba noodles with a decent proportion of buckwheat one you’ve tried making them.- For the same reason, rice noodles would be a hit-and-miss due to the low (or lack of) gluten in rice flour. But mixing it with strong flour, or even pure gluten flour, could make decent rice noodles. The Japanese Philips site recommends: rice flour – 200g; potato flour – 50g; hot water (50C) – 145-150ml.- For ramen, the recipe says to use bicarbonate of soda. It would do the job, but using lye water (kansui) would make much more distinctive (if not authentic) ramen.- Some parts are made of plastic, and as you can imagine, they’re not necessarily super durable. I had a part of the top plastic cover come off yesterday. I’ve reattached the bit to the cover with super glue, so will see how it goes. Maybe it doesn’t affect the functionality, but still, it’s a disappointment.- Cleaning could be cumbersome, if you’re used to dry-wipe a traditional unwashable pasta machine. It seems that you don’t necessarily have to freeze the attachments after use for taking bits out of the holes on the attachments, as officially recommended. Instead, you can just leave them until they’re dry. Wetting them would make things more tricky. I wish cleaning moulds (?) came for all attachments. All in all, I am happy with the purchase, although I think there is lots of room for improvement. You need to spend some time experimenting many aspects of the procedure to reach your optimal dream noodles!

Pasta fatta in casa: mai piu facile e veloce👍
