Trixie Stainless Steel Bowl with Holder Holds 300ml Diameter 9cm

Our youngest Shetland Sheepdog sleeps in a cage at night due to him wanting to chew everything he can, but that’s with him being a puppy, (he sleeps at the side of my bed so he knows I’m there and he’s safe).He’d had one of his food bowels, (metal one), in his cage but it was too big and he kept knocking it over and wetting his vet bed, which he wasn’t happy about. :-(None of our local pet stores kept this kind of bowel so that’s why I thought Amazon might have some, (and they did).The hoop attachment fits on the metal cage really well and is very safe, the bowel sits in it perfectly. :-)Onto the bowel, its stainless steel, it’s 5 inches wide and 2 inches deep, so it holds enough water for him for during the night. :-)I’m really happy with this purchase and my Shetland Sheepdogs happy he now has a bowel of water that he’s not constantly knocking over. :-)

Great product and value for money. Dog has had an operation and has to be crated currently so good to know she can Access water when she needs it. I found using a jug from the outside to fill worked best and less spilling

The picture on the amazon website really puzzled me and I nearly avoided getting this since I could not see how it attached to the crate - the bowl support ring is upside down in the picture. It is a fair size for our 16kg dog. You may need to spend some time to work out where to place it since if knocked by a tail (and if it just hooked on), the contents can spill as the whole thing gets dislodged. A cable tie makes it a lot more secure but more fiddly to then get the bowl out.

Good quality bowl and slightly bigger than I expected. Fits onto side of cage but my puppy was ably to nudge it free. However it was only intended for when we had to leave him in car on ferry so wasn't a problem. Once he got used to it he left it alone. Serves the purpose and was a good price.

Suspending water in the air obviously has the potential for problems & the bowl, although a little lightweight, is well made & it fit for purpose. However, the hoop that the bowl sits in is rather loose, so it's quite easy to knock the whole ensemble & splash water out of it unless it's fairly full & thus heavy, but this then provides a different problem with again, the water spilling relatively easily. A better attachment for hanging the bowl from a cage (or a firmer grip from the hoop in which the bowl sits) would improve matters, but this may make it less adaptable for varying cage sizes & more expensive. Still, it's better than leaving a bowl on the floor of the cage, it's very inexpensive & a weight could be stuck to the base of the bowl to give more stability & heft or some tape could be added to hold the hoop in place against the cage.The smaller of my beagles managed to get the bowl, full of water, out of the hoop & onto the floor on more than one occasion, soaking the bedding & herself, so overall, I would recommend this product for intermittent purposes, as I used whilst one of my dogs was recovering & had to be cage-rested, but for day-in day-out purposes, perhaps opt for something which can be more permanently attached. Although this may be more expensive & greater hassle attaching it initially, in the long run I think it would be beneficial.

I know this was only cheap and you get what you pay for, so lesson learned. Flimsy, thin bowl, hooks not long enough to be sturdy when attached to the side of the crate. Sits at an angle when hooked on to the crate so can only be filled a third of the way or the water spills. My dog only has to move at the back of the crate and the whole thing falls down. My advice, spend a bit more and get one that bolts on to the bars.

I have a new puppy and bought a folding cage for the puppy's safety. In order that such a small creature did not dehydrate during the three hours maximum he is in there, I bought this clip-on-dog-bowl. Bowls placed on the floor of the cage can easily be knocked over, trodden in and spilled, meaning you have to clean out the cage every hour or so else puppy gets soaked. Not nice for puppy, not nice for me.Therefore the clip on version solved that problem in a heartbeat. It's small enough to be manipulared round any leaping puppy, clips on the standard cages with ease and holds just enough water for a small drink without it being a fluid hazard.It comes as one moulded unit, so nothing to fall aprt, and cleans easily and swiftly. I have absoluteley no issues with this and would highly reccomend it for anyone using a static cage or crate for their animal. It could also be used as a water holder for when you take a small dog out, I just personaly would not be happy driving with loose water in a cage.... just in case!For more info on the cages I chose, please see my other reviews.
