is this shirt really 100% cotton? there are no labels that state the compositon; label says warm iron only (should = steam iron @100 degree)

According to the size guide even the small size seems too big - surely that can't be true? My chest measurements are 39" with length at 27".

I am a size 15.5/16. Does anyone know what what size should i go for with one of these shirts?
