Smashing the competition
This Game rocks. After reading some of the negative reviews I am shocked.People say this isn't a traditional beat em up. In my opinion thats a good point not a bad one. It offers a unique way of defeating your enemies. You hit your opponents and deal enough damage to smash them off the level. Also as to people complaining its too manic, thats kind of the point. This has great graphics, a wonderful array of characters and many differentways to play. The only bad point in my opinion is the subspace emisery mode is a little tedious and you do need to complete this to unlock all the extras.Seriously though this Game is so much fun, the first Smash Bros Game and Melee for the Game cube were so innovative and this version adds more to the Brawl. If you like games with a difference, want a new take on the aging fighting genre or just want to see Mario beat the hell out of Solid Snake and Sonic buy this Game. You won't be sorry.

Still the best multiplayer out there!
I'll address this review to people who aren't too familiar with Smash Bros, since those who are, probably already have the game and don't need any convincing from me.Basically this is a very unique fighter since instead of walking around, trying to depleat each other's health bars (yawn), you jump around building up you opponents' damage. The aim is to knock your opponent off the screen using a huge variety of moves and techniques, and the more damage they have, the further they fly. Of course the game is packed with old and new Nintendo characters, plus Solid Snake and Sonic. The game is very wacky and Japanese-y so don't expect it to make a whole lot of sense.SINGLE PLAYER- The thing to remember is that this is a multiplayer game. Single player is really there to brush up on your skills for your next multiplayer match. Of course single player is good fun- but not the key focus of the game. The new Adventure mode (subspace emissary) is so-so. You play through arcade-style levels. Whilst it's cool seeing your favourite characters from different games interact, it's a shame that the levels aren't set in the characters' games (levels and most enemies are just unique "Smash bros" ones). All this is still a great addition for old Nintendo fans, but definitely not the primary reason for buying the game.ONLINE- You can play against friends online, with loads of options, but so far I have only tried random matchmaking. Two problems I found with this was: Long waiting time to connect to other players, and some laggy slowed-down play. As I understand, however , playing friends online is a much better experience.NINTENDO NOSTALGIA- This game is packed with it. All I need to point out in this category is: If you don't know much about Nintendo and it's past games, a lot of the game's elements will be lost on you. But that's not to say you won't enjoy it.So overall I'd highly reccommed this game, just as long as you know what you're getting. People who buy this based on hype alone with no understanding of what the game's about may fail to grasp the nature of it (which is always the case when someone has a negative opinion of it). But if you have a wii, a few mates (if they're Nintendo fans that's even better), and a touch of competitiveness, then chances are that you'll be enjoying this for years to come.

Be careful about the countries it can be played
I am sure this is a great game but unfortunayely my nephew still didn't get to play it. When he tried to play,it wouldn't work, them we realise it says on the disk; for use only in USA,Canada,Mexico and Latin America. Before i purchased it,I read the description and there's nothing there that tells you about the countries it can be used. I'm very disappointed, and I'm still wating for an answer from the seller

Still an appealing game
Bought this ancient game at a good price to bring some variation to the WII games that my children still like to play. We have a PS5 but somehow our youngest in particular is still drawn to these low resolution games. So I looked up a few lists that rank the best WII games and found this one all the top deciles. As a classic game Super Smash Bros instantly hit the right spot with my son. The controls seem fairly easy to master and he is progressing through it neatly so the game play must be strong. There are a lot of characters that appear and that can be played. All in all it seems to be quite exiting and good fun. So very pleased with this game from the digital stone age.

Fantastic!
Gosh, I 've bought so many Wii games recently and this has got to be the cream of the crop.1.)Think of it as Mortal Combat, but with all the characters you grew up playing on Nintendo.2.)It has a lots of extras, like the mini games, and creating your on play stages. It has also good training levels as well.3.)Be aware that the games "does not use Wii motion" so the controlling is pretty much like past generation gaming. ie gamecube.4.) Good graphic, excellent game play and some of the best stories line will keep you hooked for hours.I think overall this will appeal to the more hardcore players, if you where looking for a wii workout type of game, then this is not for you.

Son loves it
I don't get it, but I'm probably too old. My son, aged 12, thinks it's great. It is a fighting game as the name suggests, not like a more adult game, but is at the limit of what I'm comfortable with.
