This was recommended to me by a nurse I happened to speak to about struggling to get my lip piercing back in. Turned out that she used to work as a piercer! She suggested this piece of kit. Although still a bit fiddly, I managed to get my stud back in. Such a simple concept but I wouldn’t have known what to look for had I not stumbled over the advice!

The media could not be loaded.  I wanted to pierce my ears and my septum, I thought I'd share my experience here for anyone who wants to do the same.This kit contains (almost) everything you need to pierce your ears. A specialised piercing cleaning solution is necessary and clamps also help.If you want to buy seperate jewelry (like I did), make sure that the needles you're buying have a lower gauge than the jewelry. 14G is BIGGER than 16G (1.4mm vs 1.2).If you're doing a septum piercing I have some recommendations:Use a clamp. If your piercing is misaligned in any way it will be quite noticeable.Use petroleum jelly to help the needle glide through your sweet spot.Don't use the tapered tube to insert the jewelry, just put the jewelry in the needle and then pass it through.If you mess up, pull out the needle, clean up the blood and book a professional to do it.When piercing anything, try to keep your surface sterile and be mindful of your hands/needles/jewelry/tools touching any contaminated surface. Getting an infected piercing means letting it heal and then repiercing, it's not worth it.I was successful and I like my piercings, but I don't think everyone will be able to do it independently, successfully. However, if you want to try it I encourage you to do so. Just be considerate to yourself and work safely.
