Better than a fidget spinner imo
I'm happy with my purchase, and to now own my own zippo brand lighter, I'm sure it will last, even the hinges seem sturdy. Comes with instructions on how to maintain and refill, quality product that also comes in a nice little fancy box to keep it in if you so wish.

If you only buy one Zippo, this is the one to get
As per the title, if you only buy one Zippo (although I'm not sure why you would), make it this one. Not only does it look a wonderful mix of classy and expensive, all decked out in its gold-coloured exterior, but being part of the 'Armor' range it has a weight and solidity that normal Zippos lack. Yes, it still has those traits (quirks) that all Zippo lighters share like a slightly wobbly cap when open and a complete inability to hold fuel for anything more than a couple of weeks without it completely evaporating, but that takes nothing away from what's a solid and reliable lighter that's only made that much better by being housed in a solid brass suit. That suit, though, is the Zippo's one Achilles' heel, as it attracts fingerprints and scratches like pretty much nothing else on the planet, in fact mine arrived fairly tarnished even though it was plainly new, with a `2014' date stamp on the bottom. I'm not massively concerned because, as another reviewer said, marks serve to give it character and a quick going-over with Brasso might do the trick, but I was still slightly disappointed not to receive a pristine example.

Wobblier than a wobbly thing from planet Wobble
Looks very nice with the brushed effect back and front, and the polished sides.Took it out of the box and flipped the lid open. Wow! The hinge is looser than my old Zippo from 1999. The lid had a lot of sideways play, even when closed. It shouldn't have any sideways play when closed, but this one does. That's because the insert was even looser than the hinge. There's about a millimetre gap all around the top of the insert. You could wobble it back and forth, and side to side as well. It's so loose that closing the lid made the cam cause the insert to rise up about 4mm. I didn't get as far as filling it, as I had no faith in it's ability not to leak out after a short while.I hate to give a bad review to a product which is still made in it's home country, but Zippo really need to up their game on the quality control front, or invest in some new tooling. I've seen better made copies than this example, and can't believe it was passed as fit to leave the factory.I'm sending mine back to Amazon, and I hope someone from Zippo actually reads some of the reviews on the net and does something about the quality control.

Loose Hinge
Quick delivery but unfortunately, did not appear like brand new.As do many armor models suffer, mine did appear to have a fairly loose and wobbly hinge (to the extent it did not shut straight). In addition, the insert did not fit very snug and rode up in the brass body on opening. You would have to then push the insert back in each time. The insert was also scratched around the rim, leading me to think I am not the first person to open this. The zippo arrived in a cardboard sleeve and was wrapped in an elastic band - so no top marks for packaging.Overall, not great, not terrible. But I will be sending it back and getting a non-armor version.

Great lighter and worth getting the armoured version
I had to buy a Zippo lighter (or 3) when I bought a Zippo hand warmer. I'd already bought a matt black one and decided that I wanted an armoured one too. The difference is that the metal on the armoured version is thicker which makes it a bit more resilient to knocks and bumps. It's quite easy to see the difference when you hold the two up next to each other and this has become my preferred lighter for every day use.I also love the fact that every Zippo lighter has a lifetime guarantee so if anything goes wrong with it - send it back to the factory and they'll fix it free of charge - it has to be a quality product for the company to be that confident and they certainly feel great quality.Get the genuine Zippo lighter fuel too as it smells a lot less than some of the other brands.
