Works well
I don't know enough about this to judge it. It looks to be good quality. My nephew who is a band teacher said it worked great.

A great amplification solution for a traditionally tricky instrument
I'm not a professional musician, nor am I am expert sound technician, but I've been playing cello for almost thirty years, and performing informally for almost as long. While the cello is generally a substantial instrument that can stand on its own without amplification, over the past ten years I've increasingly found myself in many situations that require additional amplification. I've tried all sorts of solutions from boom mics to clipping lavalier mics onto my instrument. This cello microphone is by far the best solution I have tried. This mic is easy to set up, works with a variety of systems and can pick up the deep rumbles of my cello without creating additional noise. This sounds crisp and clear and even captures the nuances of my bowing. This clearly resonates a wide range of tones from the low C2 up through the higher ranges well into the treble clef. My favorite thing about it is the mount, which spans all four strings below the bridge and above the tail piece. It provides a secure platform for the flexible neck of the microphone. The mount enables me to direct the microphone towards the sound hole on either side of the cello without interfering whatsoever with bowing. I also like that this comes in a well-padded, lightweight case, that protects the mic while traveling. As far as I can discern, this microphone is high quality and is a great choice for cellists. However, it's not perfect. In order for this to work, it must be plugged into a sound pack or other power source, which doesn't come with the mic. I use this with a Shure wireless body pack, which is compatible with this microphone. Another thing I'm less than pleased with is the quality of the connectors. While this comes with a wide variety of connectors, several of them have loose outer fittings. Instead of tightening, they spin freely. Another potential issue is that the microphone cable is rather delicate, so I have to be mindful of it and treat it gently. Aside from these things, this seems to be a great unit.Overall , I am quite pleased with this and am thankful to finally have a great amplification solution for my cello.
