OK for indoors only but to call them garden clogs is a bit much.

I live in a small town on an island in south TX., most people here dress very casually year round. I have worn Keen and Merrell shoes and boots for the last several years for their comfort. I am not a fan of slippers or sandals. I took a chance and ordered these for around the house, the beach, and maybe a quick trip to the store. I also expected that they would end up in the graveyard of shoes that i never wear. I received them in the mail, and promptly regretted the purchase. They wear too light and felt like poor quality. I put them on and quickly changed my mind! They are one of the most comfortable shoes that i have owned. They are also quite durable, I have thrown them in the washer three times with the insole and air dried them. They came out like new every time. They seem to run about a half size small, but luckily I anticipated that when I placed my order. They have a fantastic Arch support that I absolutely require in a shoe, flat soles hurt my feet and back. I have worn them daily for the last three months, changing into them as soon as i get home from work. My Keens and Merrells have now taken a back seat to these for my everyday knocking around shoe. I love them, and highly recommend them, especially if you need a nice arch support. I am not saying that these shoes will last forever, but for the price they are a steal. As I stated above, they have been my go to shoe for the last three months. They show no sign of failing anywhere. I would also like to note that i have never used the heal strap. I wear them as a slipper only. I can not testify to the quality of the heal strap but based on the rest of the shoe , I think it would be fine.

good but a bit large, I'm size 10 so I had to order 10-11, fits more as an 11, so i will suggest to order with your size on the high # of the spectum, eg: if you're 10 order 9-10, if you're 9 order 8-9, if you're 11 order 10-11 so on. Also, inside sole comes out easily, doesn't bug me much but wished it didn't.

At this price, the shoes are a super deal. I wear them as slip ons to go out to the garden multiple times per day. The thick sole is generous protection against rough ground - and even thorns (I live in the desert). The tops allow air flow - they are definitely not waterproof. They are not perfect. I use them barefoot, and the surface is a little irregular. The straps can be tilted forward and not used so they are true slip-ons. If the straps are tilted back, then the shoe is a little more fussy to put on and off. The strap is not adjustable, and though it has held up so far, it does not seem sturdy. So 5 stars because the price is right.

The reviews for these are absurd. They're worth $7-9, top end. The foam they made the pad from is super cheap, it's uneven, and the pins popped out of one of my heel straps the first time I put them on.These are a straight rip-off @ $30 and I wouldn't suggest them if they were $5.99. I'm pretty positive all these 5* reviews are fake.
