Excellent Product - NB: You can clean it out !!
I bought this 4 years ago, also to replace a Hoselock lance that was leaking. This lance has 2 outputs - spray & pour. For those who say it's not strong enough, to be clear - there is a power lever - when the power is turned up it is more than strong enough for garden use, and the power can be turned down for tender plants. The reason for this review though is to advise on the following. After 4 seasons of heavy use, I felt that there was a problem with the flow of water through it this Spring. Initially I thought maybe the mains tap water supply was down, but after testing felt the lance itself was the problem. I believe that Gardena have excellent products, and that there was nothing of comparable quality on the market - and if I had to buy an exact replacement for this - after 4 years, not too bad. However, on taking a closer look at the item, I found that the head of the shower spray screws off. This allowed me to take off the outer (spray) head & behind that a lot of gunk had built up. I cleaned that out, screwed it back on - and now the lance was spraying on full power. However , the 2nd function - pouring was still slow and restricted. So I tried soaking the head for a day in Milton, hoping it would dissolve any gunk behind that. To no avail - the pour function was still slow. After some googling, I found a replaceable part for the middle circular part that pours (see main photo of head above). So I unscrewed the head again, took off the outer spray ring - and I found that the inner circular "plug" with mesh can be eased out !!!!!!!!! Sure enough - behind that was almost totally blocked with gunk, which i was able to wash and clean !!!The lance is back working like BRAND NEW - and in to its 5th season fully functioning!!After this I would swear by Gardena products. Pure class !!

Great with only slight reservations.
Typical Gardena quality. There are only two spray settings - shower, which I use 95% of the time - and a “tap” setting, this is much more useful than most spray gun settings because it is a relatively gentle, aerated flow that doesent blast the compost out of containers. The only additional setting that I would like to see is a ‘mist’ setting to humidify my grow houses. The variable flow knob adjusts from 100% to around 25% (pretty much perfect), the trigger is easy to use and the ‘lock on’ switch is just about usable with the one hand.As for the claim that this is frost resistant, I find that hard to believe but I will update this review after next winter (I ALWAYS forget to bring my spray lances indoors early enough). If it is then I will be buying a few more.EDIT- So, as usual I forgot to bring this indoors but it has survived 2 winters undamaged. I have stopped using all my other lances in favour of this. I’m buying more now.Further edit - Now have 4 of these and they last very well. The shower holes do tend to get limescaled up after a few months but a 30 minute soak in vinegar or citric acid easily restores them.

Expected more but does there job.
+Overall I'm happy with it.+It let's through a lot of water but in a very gentle way.+Watering is faster and I waste less on patches with no plants.+greatly to water roses without spraying the leaves.-It doesn't feel particularly sturdy, and it looks a bit cheap.-The trigger locking mechanism often accidentally locks the device, it is easy to unlock one handed but it'd be nice if I didn't keep having to do it.It seems likely every single brand of lance/spray gun has at least a few niggles so I'm glad that the ones with this contraption are just small ones.Overal I'm happy that I've bought it.

Quality feel and works well
This was replacing a telescopic Hozelock which had 5 spray settings and a longer reach. But iot started dripping near the handle and the trigger broke.Having had Gardena things in the past I was always happy with the quality, I was not sure about only having 2 settings for the spray and the length of it.I have found the two settings enough, the shower spray drenches plants beautifully, so less time standing watering, the single jet is quite powerful, not jet spray force but is more than sufficient. The handle/trigger is a joy to use, I find I do not have to use the lock to keep the spray on as the trigger is not hard (wrist aching) to hold on while watering and has a nice cushiony feel to it.When feeding planets I fill one watering can using shower setting while 'the other half' waters/feeds the plants with other watering can, it files a can in the time she is watering with the other one, so neither of us is standing waiting for the other!!Very happy with my purchase and feel this will last and wear well.

This works well.
I needed this for a hanging basket, too heavy, high for a rise and fall gadget - so I checked out plenty of this type of tool and ordered this despite one or two unhappy reviews. It fitted well onto my hozelock connector, already had a Gardena spray gun on with no trouble. There were no leaks from the handle or around the connection at all. It made very light work of watering the basket, easy to manage, felt as good as the spray gun make wise. Remember to switch off the outside tap if you want to change the gun mid-watering! Very Pleased with this item.

Usual German quality from Gardena!
Having had a Karcher lance for a number of years (and being quite pleased with it), I needed a new one and having purchased Gardena products in the past I thought I would try a new lance. And although it was more expensive, I think its great value for money.I think the quality speaks for itself and just feels good in your hands. If you want quality garden equipment you can't go wrong with Gardena products. All my hoses and connectors are Gardena and they are just far superior to other mainstream gardening products. If I was to grumble about this lance, it would be that I feel the adjustable head is a little unnecessary and slightly lame! It doesn't cause me any issues and I just leave it in the same position.
