Perfect for the job!
This stuff is fab. I used it to stick down my felt backed carpet to the base floorboards, simple and quick to use, and carpet is firmly in place - no signs of moving anytime soon.I placed it around the perimeter of my room after cleaning dust and debris from the floor and it stuck down firmly. There were a couple of bits I had to peel off again after displacing them and they came off easy so long as I didn't leave it too long.It worked well to stick a seamless join in my carpet and also stuck down some artificial grass to the concrete floor of my enclosed balcony.Definitely needs to be cut with scissors.A few of the reviews I read before purchasing state that it left their carpets in a mess or they were unable to lift their rug to clean under. This is not a rug gripper tape, it is for permanently sticking carpet down at the edges of the room. Using it on the top of carpet would definitely destroy it - so if that's what you're wanting, look elsewhere!

Works a treat! Much better than sprays.
Amazing stuff! I have had this tape fixed to the rugs in my hallway and sitting room for around 6 months and in that time they haven't moved an inch. Previously, I had tried 'rug control sprays' but the creep continued, albeit at a slightly slower pace. The problem rugs are large and heavy and are situated in two areas of high traffic so the tape has been well tested. I do not lift the rugs to vacuum, choosing to vacuum over and around them instead. I am not sure if the adhesive quality would be greatly reduced if they were lifted but I'm not going to test that one. I would highly, highly recommend this product if you're battling with the dreaded rug creep!

Sticks well on most carpets but leaves behind a very sticky residue on mats that do move. Not sure how to remove glue!

Lots of Tape For The Money
25m of this tape was good value. Adhesion is good and it re sticks well if you have to reposition it (one or two times anyway). As usual with this kind of tape, you have to be careful it does not fold back on itself which renders it useless as prising it apart is impossible. I used it to join two pieces of carpet and although it obviously is not as good as hot wax and iron, it does a pretty good job.

We got this to stick down a couple of small rugs and it is working well so far at keeping them in place so all is good.

and these were then to be used to stop the carpet getting dirty by the back door when we
This product is described in a way that would suggest you can use it to secure rugs in place over an existing carpet to stop it from moving around when walked on. It does do that, but make sure you never, ever, want to move the rugs because this stuff simply does not come off once adhered to the carpet and left to remain for a few weeks / months. As with previous reviewers, we made the mistake of using this tape to secure a rug to our brand new carpet which had just cost us almost £1,100.00. We had taken the carpet off-cuts to a local lady who turns them into rugs so they match your new carpets perfectly, and these were then to be used to stop the carpet getting dirty by the back door when we, or our Son, come into the house from the back garden. All was fine until we moved the front room around recently, which meant the rug needed to be rotated to avoid placing the sofa on top of it, but please believe me, and those above, when I say you will literally have to replace your carpet because this stuff tears the pile right out from the hessian backing, or it simply balls up into lumps of adhesive that are impossible to remove. Ultimately, it kept the rug in place, but if I'd wanted a product to do that, without ever being able to move / remove it, and destroy the carpet underneath in the process, I could have glued the damn thing down! Ironically, that would probably be less destructive! In essence, the whole point of adhering a rug to a carpet is to ensure it can be removed for cleaning, or for when it's no longer required. Or, if it had gotten a horrific stain, say from gloss paint, you could remove it and the carpet underneath would have been saved (rug having done its intended job of protecting the carpet). Having to keep the rug on top, with no possibility of removing it is no different to having the bare carpet; either way, if the area is damaged / stained you can't do anything about it!In short, this product is a living nightmare, it is not fit for purpose, and it WILL, I repeat, WILL, absolutely destroy your carpets so badly you will have no choice but to replace them completely. We already went to ask the carpet retailer if they still sell the carpet we ordered as it's only around six months old and the rest of the room was decorated to match it; we were lucky enough that they did, and we have now placed a deposit for a repeat order!
