These are the best mountain bike tires I have ever purchased. This is my second set, and I’m extremely happy with their traction in the Arizona desert. The wear seems to be normal, but the grip on rocks and other surfaces makes the slight extra wear worthwhile, as it helps prevent crashes. Overall, I believe these tires are robust and one of the best options for desert riding that I’ve ever owned. I’ve mounted them on a tubeless rim using about four ounces of tire sealant in each tire to prevent flats. So far, everything is working as expected. I highly recommend these tires and plan to purchase them again. One note: when the tires are brand new, they tend to flick rocks at you while riding on the trails. As the tires wear down a bit, they seem to throw fewer rocks, but other than that, you can ride with confidence.

Amazing priced tyre.
Rear is amazing and love the front. Super knobby. Get mud guards tho. These puppies sling some earth.

Grippy
Very great tires that provide an ample amount of grip compared to my stock tires. Installation was easy, and they fit perfectly.

Great tire set at a great price!
I grabbed a set of these to replace some Maxis Ikon 29s on my Marlin 7. The Ikons were carryover from the previous owner. Obviously, these are two very different tires, so it is like comparing apples to oranges. If I were using the bike on light trails only the Ikons were a great tire. They were decently lightweight for my purposes (it is a Marlin after all) and fast, BUT with the kind of trails that I typically ride, the lack of pronounced tread was killing me. I had zero confidence in the turns, and I was constantly slipping on the climbs. I looked hard at the Maxxis Minions when these caught my eye.Continental has a great product here. Right out of the very well packaged box, you could see the quality in the build. Be sure you go with the different front and rear, and double check to make sure you’re putting them on right room! I didn’t mix up front to back, but I got a little too excited and mounted one of them backwards.I had a little bit of issue getting the tires to seat properly (btw I’m still running tubes on the bike) but ultimately I got them on and, as you can see from the pictures, they look great. By the way, these are a 2.4, and they do barely squeeze in on the back, at the bottom bracket seat stay connecting point. There’s plenty of room under the front forks and on the top side of the seat stay. These tires are quite a bit heavier than the Ikon, but my initial impressions on my first quick ride, in mixed wet and dry conditions with sand, pine needles, leaves, and plenty of roots, immediately justified the purchase. Slippage on climbs is almost totally gone. Maybe once or twice I spun out a little bit on a root, but that’s just me putting too much torque down on the climb. On the downhill, I found myself much more confident and cornering much lower and tighter. I cannot say that these are better or worse than the comparable Maxxis set, but I’m looking forward to many miles of rides out of them. The bottom line is, if you’re even considering this set then you’re looking for a decently aggressive tire that is comparable to other top name brands on the market. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Great quality tire
Tire seems to be of good quality, packaged nicely and feels overall like a quality item. It does want to retain its packaged shape a little, which is to be expected.Just unfold it and let it sit in the sun for a while, or just deal with and work it onto the rim. Keeping the tube (if running a tube) slightly inflated helps to both hold the tube and the new tire in place while assembling.I dont feel this tire was any harder or easier to install then the Maxxis it replaced... Tubeless ready tires are just more of a pain then the old style I grew up with.Works and looks great on my son's Kona. Originally it had 27x2.25 tires, and this 27x2.40 looks and fits great on it, you hardly notice that it's any wider.Overall, my only complaint is that they seem pricey to me, but I wanted to go with a name brand tire as my son rides in competitions and I didn't want to cheap out on him. It's too early to speak of traction or longevity, but I'll update the review if I feel any additional info would be helpful.

Great traction in dry, wet and icy conditions.
Been using those in the last 5 months, coming from Maxxis DH, they have more meat and the traction is as good if not slightly better than the DH, my last ride was on ice sheet over the trail, performed very good.

Amazing tires.
Thought when people compared it to the big brand it was a whole lotta bs.But damn I just rode my favorite park in so cal with the Argotal front and Kryptotal rear and it was a next level ride.Check it out on YouTube Pakala’s vibes / Ranoa flow. They just hold their line so well and those side knobs …. Use em they work.About to order a back up pair.
