I have been using Garnier Nutrisse for years, but recently came out in a rash after using it. I’m not ready to stop dying my hair, so thought I’d give this a go. Did a sensitivity test first and all ok. It has a very natural smell, covered my hair well and didn’t dry it out. The quinoa mask to use afterwards is great, and also smells natural. Went a couple of shades lighter (9N) than usual (Garnier 8N) and it worked well. No hint of a rash or itchiness so will definitely be using this again.

I bought this product thinking it would be a much better option to avoid chemicals. The packaging leads you to think that way. The app Yuka evaluates foods and cosmetics and gives you an excellent breakdown of product ingredients and their potential risks. However, if you use the free version, you can only scan products directly. This being an online product, I couldn't scan it, but decided to buy it anyway. When I received it, I used my app and what a shock to see the product is rated BAD, with a 0 out of 100 rating. Despite all the 'natural ingredients', it contains 2-Amino-4-Hydroxyethylaminoanisole sulfate, which is considered HAZARDOUS. I am sick of companies with false claims, with profits above customers safety. There's a growing trend online of people trying hard to expose the risks we're facing within the food and cosmetics industry. This has to grow, so companies are forced to change their values/ingredients. I will never buy this product again. The sad thing is that hair dyes are awful and it's proving a challenge to find something suitable. Of the products I scanned, OLIA is the better option, despite having moderate risk ingredients. Not great still..! The rest has hazardous chemicals. I hope my review helps people to look into what they put in their bodies better.

I am more than pleased with my first purchase of Naturtint Hair Colour, from all the products I researched this appeared the kindest for my newly grown and sensitive hair after chemotherapy. I lost my hair completely and waited patiently for it to grow back to a point that I could colour it. It had returned almost completely grey, dry and brittle. I was very apprehensive about what product to use so as not to further damage the hair but definitely wanted to use something because as it was, it was making me feel old before my time and after going through all that horrendous and at times brutal treatment which gives your body image the ultimate battering, I wanted at least some of my confidence, sparkle and glow back. This product did the trick, my hair may be short but the resulting colour (4M/Mahogany Chestnut) was so vibrant and luscious and made me smile the biggest smile upon looking in the mirror. It is such a deep and rich shade and I wasn't expecting that from something free of harsh chemicals and made with 99% natural ingredients, I was dubious as to whether it would cover the strong and stubborn grey but it absolutely did! Application was a breeze, I mixed only half the mixture to a ratio of 1:1 in a separate applicator bottle and it was more than enough for my short hair so I have enough for another session when the need arises. It was gentle on my scalp and so nourishing on my hair, after just one application , not only was my hair a gorgeous colour it was soft, smooth and conditioned. The after colour quinoa conditioner mask included is integral to the whole colouring process and for a perfect finish so definitely not a step to be skipped and the generous amount means it can be used a good few times afterwards to keep your colour looking it's best. Naturtint may well be a little on the pricey side compared to some others on the market but I will 100% be purchasing again because to me it was worth every penny, it was kind and gentle on my 'new' hair which had grown back in a sad and sorry state. It has not only given my hair new colour but also a new lease of life. The fact I can get two applications from the one pack whilst my hair is still only short is a welcome bonus but when it grows longer (fingers crossed) and needs the entire contents to suffice, I will still be more than happy to purchase because it is a superior, vegan product of exceptional standard, enriched with organic oils and natural ingredients and my hair is most definitely worth it, as am I! Definitely easier on the pocket than a trip to the salon. So many stunning colours to choose from is a joy and I may well experiment in the future but for now this is my perfect shade. I like that this hair dye is natural but unfortunately, this colour came out gingery on my medium brown hair which is what I was trying to avoid. I wouldn't call it dark 'ash' blonde, more light 'gingery' copper. I still might try one of the others.
