I had a stuck/rounded drain plug bolt on my Honda that I couldn’t get removed using a standard socket. It took two tries, but once this socket was pounded correctly onto the stripped bolt, it turned easily. The process of pounding the socket onto the head of the bolt actually works to loosen it before you even try to turn it. I’m happy with the purchase, it saved me from having to take the vehicle to a shop - perhaps even having to replace the oil pan.

Did the job

Used this twice now on my classic Alfa 156 that had a round locking nut and a Mini R56 that had a rounded lug nut. Tried a few other tools that were poor. Just line these sockets up, give them a good whack with a decent weighted lump hammer a few times. Connect your breaker bar or torque wrench and simply undo your nut as usual. One of the best features is that the sockets themselves can accept a larger socket placed on top of them to give a solid and stronger connection. IE, used a 23mm socket on top of this 17mm as they are hex shaped. Saved a good few quid using these little beauties.
