A really funny romance
One of the funniest romance books I have ever read, I was laughing with tears rolling down my face in two scenes in this book - what a joy!!!Huxley Cane is a very wealthy man who runs his family business with his two brothers. He one day meets Lottie, down on her luck and wandering around and she seems the answer to all his problems and he is the answer to hers.Huxley has made a comment to an important potential businessman who can provide him with a lucrative deal he doesn’t want to miss out on. This leads to Lottie agreeing to Huxley’s agreement and they begin to fake dating, although there is much more to it than that which is what makes it so funny.Lottie has her own problems she is due to to a friends wedding where her cheating ex partner and all her friends will be so the agreement with Huxley provides her with a partner to take. They both benefit from this agreement but slowly but surely they both fall head over heels. It's a cute read, steamy and so funny - it’s hilarious and one I would recommend if your looking for a very fun read.

Hello Huxley
When Lottie goes looking for a rich husband and Huxley tries to find a way to fix his big mistake, the unlikely pair strike an unusual deal. She'll pretend to be his fiance and he will pay her loan and give her somewhere to live.Did I mention she also has to pretend to be pregnant?Nothing can go wrong when feelings start to get involved....right?Lottie is strong headed, funny and confident. She may be down on her luck and put her trust in the wrong people, but she learns she has to not let people walk over her.Huxley is stubborn, up himself and dedicated to his work. It was good to see his growth through the book with the help of Lottie.Fake dating romance with great banter, strong FMC and endless laughs. Plus some good spice 😉I cannot wait to read about Huxleys brothers, JP and Breaker 🔥

A mixed bag
Sometimes I take things a bit too seriously. Reading this book was a mixed bag, in every possible sense.Lottie was at times irrationally immature and idiotic to a point of me thinking this couldn't possibly be a real character. Huxley's whole "business yes, feelings no" schtick didn't really have a reason for it? Like, sure, you're working all the time, but there's no real sense as to why he's so intent on keeping women out of his way other than *plot*.The conversations were at times laugh-out-loud funny and at other times made me cringe so much... Most of the time I was reading through Huxley's chapters, I felt like it was a woman writing what she hoped a man would say or think of her, there was a significant disconnect between how he acted and what he thought, and the dialogue was super forced and cliched most of the time. How the conversation steered into the innuendos was entirely forced. As for the whole "let's jump into the private jet to go see a concert and eat a burger" thing – you're killing the environment. Congratulations, your children will think polar bears are unicorns because they died due to the reckless use of private jets.I understand that there's a whole "hot billionaire" trope in literature and I bought this novel looking for a fun time. Did I enjoy myself? Yes. Does the billionaire trope make me feel yucky? Also yes. So, I struggled with this novel because even if it had good chemistry between the characters and at times it was funny, the brothers' relationship was fun, Kelsey is infinitely better than Lottie, Ellie was as annoying a character as can be, I just didn't like Dave (Mr. On a High Horse), I would never share as many details with my sister about my private lives, stop using your private jets for errands, the mother and stepfather stop appearing once they've served their purpose... Mixed bag.I've already got the other two novels, and I'll read them and probably try not to overthink the disregard that rich people have for the environment. At least the spicy scenes are good.
