so I decided to give this one ago as it seem to have the best overall reviews
I was sceptical about buying a small scanner against the more expensive ones, of which none had a 100% glowing review. To have the slides done professionally costs app 35p slide, so I decided to give this one ago as it seem to have the best overall reviews.I have to admit I am completely satisfied with the results. Copied into an Apple Mac, and transferred them into my iphoto, and did some minor adjustments. The initial copies are very good but as my wife says I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to photos, so copied them on 1800 dpi not the 3600 (you have the choice) as this gave a better image for adjustment later. Then just gave them a bit of sharpness and slight adjustment to colour. Some of the older slides tended to have an over blue saturation, which is easily corrected. The software supplied does have a small facility to adjust colour but I preferred to use my own photo software. I copied 200 and 98% came out very good.

Does The Job...Perfect For Me!
So I’ve been busy past couple of weeks using this great little gadget! This scanner has worked well for me and is reasonable for the price. Quality of the materials used is good and it was easy to set up to my Mac using the installation CD...I was up and running in no time! Scanning quality is again reasonable, you do have to play around with some of the settings, but should be adequate for most users. Overall, a great piece of kit that does the job of putting all my negatives into a digital format.

Does the job nicely
Have just about finished processing over 500 slides from about 50 years ago, and on the whole, I am pretty pleased with the results. You have to remember that as well as kicking around for that length of time, the quality of camera images weren't anywhere as good as they are today.I had done about 150 slides, when it developed a fault, where the images showed as very dark grey, and, bizarrely, sometimes a vivid lime green!. Intey were very good and sent me a replacement immediately, without the need to return the defective one. I didn't find the on-board tools much good, but saving the images to my computer and then using my Picasa 3 software was a breeze. We have three daughters, the oldest of whom is knocking on the big 50 door, and they are delighted that they have a memory stick each of all these photos of their childhood. Once I've finished all of the slides, it won't be much use, but that's a small price to pay for memories.

Don't waste your money
The device is cheap. Creaky black plastic that feel flimsy (not what I want to put my precious negatives into).Biggest issue though: the product comes with software on an installation disc. If you don't have a disc drive, you're out of luck. The manual doesn't contain a URL for downloading the software online. I'm using a fast MacBook running the latest version of macOS – dug out an external disc drive, finally installed the software and found that it doesn't work. It won't open. I'll never know if the image quality is as poor as the other reviews have said.Perhaps this is a simple error in the software that could be fix with an update, but since it's only on the included disc and nowhere online, we'll never know. Returned. Don't waste your money.

Alright, I guess
The product was well packaged and the quality is good in terms of structure. The disc was cracked but still read fine. However the problem is the images themselves. Even well exposed film suffered digital noise introduced by the scanner. The backlit is not even and so the centre of the frame is much hotter than the rest and colours bleed into each other. There is not sufficient options either in the software and you get low quality files unsuitable for grading afterwards. I thought this would save me the pain of pulling out my tripod and taking pictures of each frame manually with my a7s but no luck. I think this would be suitable for simply storing old family photos on a computer but anything more I wouldn't bother.

MAC Buyers beware
This is a decent scanner, scanning very old (1960's to 1980's slides) produces a fairly good image considering the film and camera quality way back then. This worked on my MAC until I upgraded to the latest MAC OSX, High Sierra, when it stpped working. I'm guessing this is because of the new file system with High Sierra, so a word of advice. If you have the latest MAC OSX DO NOT buy. This will not work. As far as I can tell there is no way to contact Intey for updated software so it will now become a paper weight!!

good product Mac users - this can work
This is an edited review as I I have Mac Sierra 13.10 and the disk provided doesn’t work with Mac books. I contacted the seller who sent me software which I down loaded but didn’t allow me to save or print the images produced. After second contact and fresh software this works perfectly so for the price bear with the seller and let them rectify any compatibility issues. Quality not bad make sure it’s clean and relatively dust free.

35mm slide scanner
Had a little trouble setting the scanner up as it kinked through my Skype camera and at first the power light would not come on. Connected using a different lead and the power light came on, reconnected the original and the power light came on ok. I did have to load the software disc twice. Everything seems to be okay now and I have used it to copy a few 48 year old 35mm slides. Once setup it is easy to use and I am happy with quality of the results so far. Overall I think it is a good bit of kit, time will tell as I go through more slides.
