Dean only has vague memories of her. Sam has none. How will they adjust?The British men of letters are in America, wanting to expand their operation. And to show the Yanks how to do it. They offer excellent techniques and equipment. And the dream of a monster free world. But is it too good an offer to be true?Then there's Lucifer. He's not going back in that cage if he can help it...What follows is probably the most solid season since number six. Because whereas the show will usually have a big arc for the season that gets put on hold at points for stand alone tales, the arcs are better structured here. The return of their mother arc dovetails nicely in with the British men of letters one. And the Lucifer one is paced just right.Throughout the season it does get into good moral food for thought about the approach to hunting that characters have. There's nothing here in it's portrayal of Brits that should get anyone wound up. Its portrayal of the British men of letters as an ancient organisation hidebound by tradition and rules is, let's face, so very British indeed.Everything builds very nicely to a finale that might ruffle some fan feathers, but that isn't afraid to shake things up a bit. And a show that's been around so long still wanting to take risks is to be applauded. All are really good, getting into good depth about the issues they cover.Supernatural 2016 comic con panel. Thirty mins from said panel. A fun watch.Gag reel. Ten minutes of outtakes. As with most gag reels, there is a little too much of people being silly for the sake of it, but this isn't too self indulgent, and does contain some funny moments.A good box of extras and a great season make this worth five stars.

Fantastic series. I have seen the first 11 series and this is a continuation of the great series. Some investigations like earlier series. No God or gods sister at all but a lot of the Men (and women) of letters. Battles over Lucifer restarts and then what happens when the battle of who is The King of Hell and what happens when the King of Hell has a half human baby and can the baby be allowed to be born? Men of letters are British and will there be an alliance or war with them. The Winchesters mum is also about (she was brought back from Heaven by gods sister at the end of the last series) but how will she cope with coming back to earth and how will it work. Their mum had retired from hunting and knows nothing of computers etc. However the car is still there and looks remarkable good given the number of times it has been smashed and crushed.

For decades the Winchester brothers have tackled not only vampires, ghosts, werewolves and other horribles, but taken in their stride Purgatory, Hell, Armageddon and other inconveniences. Season 12 sees the return of mother Mary, who thirty four years earlier blazed so dramatically on the ceiling of their home. Well may they gape. (Viewers too.) Other new arrivals are the supercilious London Men of Letters, self-proclaimed most professional monster killers in the world. The brothers' impressive CV means nothing to them, Dean and Sam but bungling colonial amateurs - destined for annihilation if they do not conform.Yeah, right! Eagerly awaited are those pesky Brits put in their place.After previous apocalyptic themes, the creators try now to return the series to its roots. Hence Dean and Sam travel all over the country investigating mysterious deaths - flashing their fake FBI cards or, in one instance, donning priest collars. As always, expect torture (some decidedly sadistic), gore, disintegrating corpses, impressive special effects. Also as ever, here in plenty is the show's special ingredient for making such atrocities more palatable - tongue-in-cheek humour rarely far away. King of Hell Crowley continues to have mother trouble (Ruth Connell as Rowena very funny). True to form, Dean will endeavour to eat his way through the entire season. (No growly voice this time though, the once familiar sign he was VERY ANGRY.)A high death toll. Do not worry if favourite characters perish. Almost certainly they will be back. Mother's return allows moving family moments - reminder of how the parentless brothers have tried to cope all these years. Also come her reactions to matters we take for granted - her eyes widening at cell phones and computers being operated with ease.Twenty three episodes. Commentaries. Interesting bonuses about Mary, the Winchesters History as Hunters, the Men of Letters. A gag reel with Monty Python-type introduction. A very self-indulgent Comic-Con session which some may feel needs much editing.With horror and humour skilfully combined, the season represents another treat for fans.

Brilliant series and hope they do a season 16

I'll never tire of this show.

With 11 seasons done - this being the 12th - it is impressive that it does not get boring at all. Looking forward to 13 now...Anyway, let's review: the story line is good, picking up on old occurrences, feelings, ties, deals, mistakes. it was about time the brothers sorted out a few things and cleaned up their cellar.A good continuation of the previous seasons, and I am happy to see the two keep kicking, somehow. And - of course - at the end, the cliffhanger... how could it be otherwise? :-)

Bought for a family member and they are very happy with this dvd.
