Great historical coverage. I would suggest it as a starter book for anyone interested in Palestine, and as a compulsory read for anyone who believes Palestine didn't exist, prior to 1947.

This is a very dense book and so not an easy read. Perseverance pays off, however, as it interrogates and demolishes the assumptions about the history of Palestine that this European post-christian reader took for granted for far too long. Ranging through etymology and archeology to a nuanced grasp of the long and complex history of Palestine, this book is a valuable resource for anyone who wishes to engage seriously with the history and current horrors of the region.

A fascinating insight into the rich history of Palestine that deserves to be read by all those interested in fact based history.

The author captures the history of Palestine superbly. A page turner from the beginning to the end. Beautifully carefully researched and presented. A must read!
