Delivered on time which is a good start. The instructions are non existant but a little imagination facilitates the gate being put in place. NOTE, have someone handy, it is nigh on impossible to hold the gate in place, (level and square) and tighten into place. The gate I was supplied is well constructed. A good solid piece of kit. Decent quality metal, robust, well finished. There are no sharp edges or means, that I can see that could cause an injury. The gate is opened by means of pressing a sliding button forward where the thumb would naturally be placed at the same time as pulling the lever type grip with the fingers of the same hand. Imagine grasping a pole. The fingers being the underside pull up the lever and free thumb pushes a button on the top. The lever lifts a notch from the bottom of the gate. The lever releases a notch at the top of the gate. Both have to be released to allow the gate to open. A very simple but effective design. The anchoring points, top and bottom, which I have referred to as notches is really quite good. I bought mine to stop a puppy but would be happy with this in place for my kids when they were babes. Make sure it is all tightened properly as it first appears to be out of true. As it is tightened, you see the shape pushed back into place, this allows the notches etc referred to to engage. A solid 5/5. The only real criticism being the lack of instructions as there are a number of people who would struggle to join two pieces of lego together.

Works well and easy to fit.The original delivery had a part missing but amazon were really good and got a replacement to us in a couple of days with an apology for the inconvenience. The replacement was good and being a "one handed" gate it's great when you have the little one in one hand and leaves the other to open up and get you through.

Bought pressure fix gate in order to avoid making holes in the wall or bannister supports.The instructions ask you to screw some shallow cups to the wall in order to stop the fixing points moving. Seems to work OK without though, but does need regular checking to make sure it's all still tight.In spite of this, it gets 4 stars because the mechanism is MUCH better than the last pressure fix gate we had (which never really seemed to lock securely).

This is an excellent product, easy to assemble and install, the alleged warping stated by the several 1 star reviewers is not a fault but designed so that when the frame is fixed in the gap it all lines up perfectly.My reason for purchase of this particular make was because it had adjusting nuts that could be turned by hand - no need for a spanner - unlike most other makes and as this was only to be used when our grandson came and was taken down in between times this was an important feature.The gate is easy to open (for an adult!) and clicks shut securely behind you.All-round a thoroughly recommendable product.

This product was due on the 28th December, however it did not arrive until the 3rd January. I tried to track the progress but there was no information on its progress. Not impressed with this at all.The product was easy to fit and appears to work well. The locking mechanism has stuck a couple of times, but we will wait and see if this will be an ongoing issue.

Nice, good quality gate. You do have to pay attention when fitting as it is possible to get the top and bottom out of alignment. This is not a fault with the gate (as some people have put in their reviews). We actually bought two of these to help contain our dogs. If these gates can successfully contain our very cheeky and quite determined hounds then kids will not be a problem. They are also used a lot and have not sown any wear. Very pleased

We're not quite convinced by this. It's "ok" and works perfectly ok, but the bottom has never fitted properly or closed. The top's closing mechanism is also becoming loose (our other one, also reviewed, is not loose at all). Then again - it's doing its job, right? It's stopping my toddler falling down the stairs, so it's difficult to be too critical. It does the job. It just doesn't feel of great quality, so don't expect that when you get it.

Arrived with damaged packaging, item looked like it may be also , only reason for 4 stars. As for the gate it is a god send. Used to keep the dog out of the bedroom. Money well spend
