This is a good item for car camping or tailgating but not so much for backpacking do to the overall size. I bought this for the cork stoppered vials but was disappointed at how soft and crumply the cork stoppers were. Replacing them with wooden stoppers making a more secure and easily manipulated closer is an upgrade idea. Silicon stoppers under the screw cap vials is very secure for liquid or semi-liquid ingredients. Great security of mind that even if the lid is not down tight it will still keep them from leaking in your container. I would not necessarily recommend these for backpacking due to space required. Excellent for car camping and tailgating or neighborhood gatherings for spices and condiments. Oilskin carrier is medium weight and seems well sewn. Having the only two grommets on the side so if you go to hang it up it is only able to hang sideways is a negative. Putting an additional grommet in the top corners would improve the flexibility and allow wet contents to not be against the caps for potential leakage.With the silicone seals under the caps I have great confidence they will not leak, and one of the main reasons, after using a similar competitors vials, I went with this product.I like the product design over all, but recommend better stoppers replace the crumbly cork, and the additional grommet in the corner and it would be five star.

Great set! Not a huge fan of the corked tops, but when the tote is button shut it keeps all the corks in place so I am not going to dock a star for that. The thread tops for fluid include a separate silicone seal that pops into place under the metal threaded cap. 100% leak free if tightened properly! Last trip the kit got rained on, and water remained beaded on the canvas case. Wax or silicone treated canvas? Not sure, but it was a bonus. I have tried a bunch of spice sets for camping, this is my favorite by far. The others don't hold quite enough and are often made of cheap plastic that is super brittle, and has thread that gall up after a few uses. I wasn't quite sure about the glass containers here, but so far they hold up better to drops than some of the plastic ones I have had. I also pack it last on top of the camp kit so it isn't getting smashed in transport.I now keep steak seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in the camp kit, along with some olive oil and balsamic. For the dry spice, I also picked up some desiccant to stuff in each vial to keep them from caking. I just sorted my kit to prepare for winter camping and topped them all off - after the last rain and humid camp trip, then being stored in a non climate controlled environment, nothing was caked. Me agrado el tamaño..quiciera encontrar algunos mas grueso del Cristal. Estos estan un poco muy frajiles.. los tengo que cuidar mucho para que no se rompan..aveces cuando uno anda apurado o de prisa no tiene el cuidado para separarlos de todo..pero el tamaño y calidad esta bien..solo mas gruesos seria mejor...los uso para (juice shots ) jugo concentrado de frutas o verduras..

The kit is perfect for camping and bushcrafting. Just the right amount of jars to cover the basic spices and herbs I need to make great meals. Well built and good quality!
