LYRAGraphite Stick 9b

It’s good to have found this graphite stick as there aren’t that many 9B sticks available. It’s grinds down to graphite powder really well

Have used this company for quite a few artist materials. Always been very pleased.

For my new drawing, I needed a really dark graphite pencil with the same soft consistency of charcoal. This would allow me to create soft and gradual transitions. The graphite stick itself is quite hard which is great for sharp dark lines. However, if you want gradual background transitions like in my drawing, I would sand down the stick using mesh sanding paper and use a cotton ball in circular motions for the background.Overall, I paid about £5 for one stick which is relatively good considering it’s size, thickness and potential. If you’re a graphite based artist, this is a must!I will also mention that I had a problem with my order and customer service sorted it all out for me right away.Thank you for reading my how’s the review, I hope you found it helpful! :)

It basically does what it says on the tin! It is a graphite stick made for sketching. And that's what it does. It performs beautifully and I will continue to use this. I will purchase from this seller again in the future when I run out.-Miss M.

I should point out that I bought this as a piece of graphite rather than a drawing or writing implement. It is indeed a stick of graphite! End of story. I didn't use it for this purpose but I imagine it would work well to provide a useful conductive track on top of a CPU to change its clock speed etc.

Planning on doing some graphite drawings and wanted some 9b (apparently this is the softest you can get) to add to my collection. Great product goes on smooth, will certainly come in handy

My daughter loved this pen as she likes to do a lot of art , and it is the same as they have in school ..

The comfort and balance of the stick are important, but my bigger concern was: "Will this 9B size fit into the Lyra Graphite Crayon Stick Holder?" and the answer is a definite "Yes!". I am strictly an amateur artist and love the freedom of experimenting with different forms and media. Charcoal is one that I had a concerns about messiness and preservation of a completed piece. This was my first attempt and I see I have a lot to learn! Both the holder and the stick make my experimentation very easy with no mess at all! Love it!

I would give these 10 stars if possible. Graphite paper is expensive. So I use these to make my own. Saves a ton of money and works great. They are good in charcoal sketches too. This blends well an ads a nice dimension. Rub a soft cloth over the home made graphite paper and you have subtle tones for shading. I cannot beleive the value. I will never be without these.

Easy to color larger areas very dark very quick

I have never studied anatomy, nor taken a single art class. I love this because it allows me to make large sketches (using an 8.5x11) to get the general idea out, then use a smaller more detailed utensil for..the details. I tend to try to be to detailed upfront but this really helps me understand the general placement of items in a drawing without being caught up in the minutia. For me, this has definitely been a great tool for rough drafts and learning tools.

This graphite stick is superb for learning and veteran artists. I use this bad boy with some newsprint to thumbnail all my work it's a freaking lifesaver. Great quality and life changing.
