The resistance band came through the door slot and actually WHIPPED me...
So here’s the thing. I’m a lover of all things reliable and dependable. I also like to stay fit no matter the cost. If I can incorporate the two and have a decent workout to start my day off? Man, I’m in heaven! I’ve had to get physical therapy sessions in the last few years for my cervical spine, and at both times I visited, I was given a resistance band to take home with me for exercises. The latest one I was given earlier this year was made by THERABAND (the light gray one). It’s actually listed on Amazon, and I was considering purchasing it. It’s durable, though it’s got a few nicks here and there, but it’s never broke on me. The therapist tied it in a way that it doesn’t stretch evenly when I’m wanting to balance it out so both my left and right side will get equal attention when it’s used (see attached image). I love that band, but the problem is it didn’t come with handles, anchors, ankle straps, etc., just the band… but this product did. I figured I’d purchase it and forego the THERABAND on the site because it’s just a 20 or 25-foot box of the stuff, but I was hoping to get more than just bands. It came in on this past Friday. I took it out of the package and the nice little black bag that comes with it is helpful. It takes some extra work to get all that rubber in there, but it’s got ties on the side to keep everything all in one place. I wasn’t too thrilled to use it because I liked the one I had before, but I figured I needed to upgrade. I actually had to get neck surgery done earlier last month, and I have to stay away from any heavy weights (bench pressing, pullups, etc) per my orthopedic surgeon. I’m keeping that promise, and I’ve until February to start again. Resistance training is just to get things back in order for myself, though there’s nothing like lifting weights! But the bands? OHHHH they’ll teach you something about yourself! Just like PT, it’s all a science of it’s own!Today (4 days after receiving the band kit) was upper body workout day, so I deduced I’d use the 50 lb band (decided on Friday after trying the various weights), the clips, the handles, and the anchor for my makeshift bench press. I put the anchor through the door slot as directed, then I slid the handle/band through the anchor. Set 1 with 40 reps? Awesome! Set 2 with 30 reps? …shhhhhh PAAAA! The resistance band came through the door slot and actually WHIPPED me on my back! WHAT THE HECK?! I was actually stunned for a moment and couldn’t figure out what had happened, but that sting didn’t go anywhere. I looked closer and noticed that the foam that keeps the anchor in place cracked, and the band came on out after the anchor fell to the floor… that thing stung SO bad even though I had on a tee-shirt. I’m no stranger to getting whipped, but that was years ago when I was a kid and I was misbehaving… never got whipped for keeping my body in shape! So my workout was disrupted, but I completed it. In between, I checked my back, and though my skin is a darker complexion, you can see a bruise and an ashy line where impact was made. My apologies for adding pictures of my back… I’m quite reserved about that kind of thing, but customers have a right to know what they’re in for.So after this discomforting experience, I’ve since reached out to the manufacturer to see if a new anchor could be sent. I plan on taping the damaged one and to keep on pushing through. It’s actually a nice product. Here are a few pros/cons:Pros:1). Very nice concept2). You can add more bands to increase resistance3). The bands seem to be quite durable4). The hooks/clips are nice and come in handy… haven’t tried the ankle strap yetCons:1). Ankle strap may not be for someone with a larger ankle2). Experienced discomfort while doing curls; the tip of the handles brush up against my wrists/forearm3). Faulty anchor foam; was only used twice and it cracked4). Not sure if the 2 higher resistance bands are actually usable… barely gave way when I tried curls.I think I’ve found my sweet spot… the 50 lb and 10 lb together! I’ll keep using it and hopefully, I’ll get a follow up from the manufacturer sometime soon. For now? 2 Stars. Things could’ve been worse… I’m thankful my back was to the door. (=Hope this helps and have a WONDERFUL, joyous new day!Z.***UPDATE***A few days before this review was posted, I heard back from the seller. They were willing to work with me in any shape, form or fashion. They offered sending me another product, and even issuing a full refund. I informed them that I've since taped the foam to the anchor and informed them no need to send a full refund or another set of bands. I advised them that if they see fit, they could issue me a partial refund, which is what they did. I'm satisfied with that result, and the fact that they care so much about their impression on their customers. They didn't force me to try and change the review I posted or take it down like some other company's would. I did mention as soon as we came to an agreement, I'd update my review, so here we are. The product is still working good for me and I appreciate the sellers working with me. For that, I'll increase the rating to 3 stars.Hope this helps. If you do have any issues, then at least you can rest assured it'll be rectified. Peace. (=Z.

I don't trust bands
So, is it a good set? Sure. They offer resistance. But is the weight they say it is for sure the weight? I have doubts.I'm not big on resistance bands because I should not be able to curl 100lbs with such ease. In DBs I curl 60s, but to be able to put a 90, 50 and 10 lbs resistance band together, remove all slack and still be able to curl it 15 times tells me that there's something untrustworthy about using bands.Just to test my theory, I went to Dick's sporting goods and grabbed their 100lbs resistance band. Put it tightly under my boot. And curled it using just my middle finger. Now this isn't to say you can't get a good workout or pump with resistance bands. You'll just have to do it with Volume > Load. So instead of anticipating being able to keep your 4, 6, 8, 10 rep range, anticipate workouts with 15, 20, 30 or even 40 rep ranges to really engage the muscle, create blood flow and tear the fibers. Will you get ripped from these?Depends on how you use them honestly. If you have a daily routine where you hit a certain muscle group with a high volume workout, then sure you'll see results, increase strength, endurance and maybe even add a little mass. But will you create an environment to have a solid weight loss, lower blood pressure, increase cardiovascular health? Probably not. These will not offer you the ability to increase your HR enough to see a large difference in physique and overall health. To properly engage in a regiment to change physique and over all health, you need to be able to get your HR up into a zone that allows your body to pump harder and burn storage for energy. My experience with these have been a steady HR as if I wasn't even working out at all.OverallI'd recommend this for avid gym goers who would like to keep a pump, or add a pump before a night out or to warm up your muscles first thing in the morning. I'd recommend this for beginners to start to learn certain motions and movements before hitting real weights. It's also good for beginners to add some resistance to their muscle for endurance and stability before getting into a real lifting routine.

Good Bands
I've been using these bands for a couple of weeks now and they seem to be good quality bands. I mainly got them to use as I recover from shoulder surgery but they're so portable and adaptable I'll most likely keep using them forever and just get heavier ones as I need them. Plus, they're so much more affordable than weights! The only issue with them (and why they didn't get 5 stars) is that the poundage on the bands seems off. For instance, when at the gym using dumbells, I curl about 25 pounds. With the bands on the same exercise I can curl 70-90 pounds. This isn't really an issue for me because the resistance is all that matters regardless of what the bands say. I mean, my muscles have no idea anyway, right? Plus, with the amount of bands that you get, I'll have plenty of resistance for quite some time.

Great quality
Best bands that I’ve used so far. I feel confident that these will not snap in my face or anywhere else. They feel good and sturdy and also have great resistance. Not sure about the weight thing but def good for things like only resistance training or using them for super sets.

Heavy duty
I broke several normal bands before I orded these. They're tough and work great!
