2007 Mustang 4.0 V6
Purchased this to replace the original plastic leaking one my 2007 Mustang 4.0 V6. It fit perfectly and I high high hopes for long term durability with its metal construction. It came with the temperature sensor and thermostat included and installed, I went with those as both are not too difficult to replace if they fail.the price was very good for such a upgrade over the plastic original part.

About time
I’ve had to replace the thermostat assembly in both of my 4.0 sohc fords every year since I’ve had them. The plastic gets brittle and leaks. Factory issue I know but they came up with a metal design and I’ve just converted my last 4.0 over to this style. Being a 29 year ford tech I can’t see why ford didn’t come up with this but hey it is out now and way cheaper than ford would sell it for anyways. A year so far on one and still going so I’ve already proved it’s better than the plastic factory version.

Great replacement part!
This replaced the original Ford part installed on my Mustang. The Ford part is thermo-plastic and is prone to splitting and leaks. I caught mine before it split, but it was leaking. This cast aluminum replacement part is a much better idea that Ford's "Better Idea"! Took about 1 hour to replace and it fits perfectly with no leaks.

Aluminum Thermostat and Housing
This is a quality part, I think it's better than the cheap plastic OEM thermostat housing. The ad should have stated the housing comes with the Thermostat.

use for “parts”.
The media could not be loaded. hey there. use the housing but don’t use the actual thermostat. the actual thermostat is garbage and doesn’t even have a tight seal/rubber gasket. in the video you can see it just falls off at the end. i’ll be putting the OEM thermostat in the metal housing. :))
